Portpiro, my oven came with the house. I must say I do like the way it cooks, but steel is just too hard to keep looking non smudged etc. in my last house I had a Bosch wall oven - that was the best oven I ever owned and if I ever replace the current smeg I would go back to a Bosch. We have white Westinghouse fridge freezer, no complaints good fridge that suits our kitchen and our needs, our stainless steel which I gave to my parents when we moved was also Westinghouse .. I am pretty sure they are Australian as well...so that is a bonus

I've had a couple of Smegs (admittedly slightly older versions) in various homes and they were both rubbish ovens, continually needing expensive repairs. Miele was very good, up to 5 years old and no repairs required, but smaller internal dimensions. Recently upgraded in present house to an AEG pyrolytic with telescopic runners......really thrilled with it !! Early days as it's not quite 12 months old. I use the benefits of the telescopic runners all the time, pyro cleaning is a breeze.

can't offer an opinion about an Aga but when deciding on my own new appliances i chose a cooktop with timer that turns itself off when i wander away and an oven built in at eye level to avoid bending down and couldn't decide how any other extras would improve my cooking experience... after 18 months i still haven't investigated all the tricks offered by my new appliances but am very happy with my choice

I haven't used AEG but i always check where the product is made? Not just where the head office is based. Also, have you looked at productreview.com.au. you never really completely know if reviews are real or fake but if you read enough of them you can get a reasonable idea. I recently replaced my oven and induction cooktop and chose Neff, never heard of them before i started looking but they had a good deal on the oven and i would have to say is the best oven i have ever used. I had a bosch prior and had a few issues. They are actually the same company but bosch is the lead in, Neff next level up, then if money no limit, Gaggenau. Good luck, its a big decision.
