You need to add something dark, for contrast and "punctuation".. I agree with the others about painting the front door black (not gray) and would also paint the planter boxes, step, and sides of the porch black. Perhaps as well the window trim and even the eaves trough although I would want to see the roof color better to decide on that. Then some brightly coloured plants in the planters and maybe a small brightly painted stool or chair or small table to the side of the door on the porch area. These things would make the font of the house "sing" and add personality so the home stands out from others around it.

Hi, not sure how the full length of your wall jutting out looks. But I think a mirror covering that entire part of the wall and then a fantastic piece of artwork on the wall above your small table would look great and open the space up a lot. Depending on the size of the artwork you could even do without the table. Imagine the gorgeous impact that would make.

My suggestion is a little outside the box but I'm thinking that's what you're really looking for through this post and it does successfully keep costs down while working effectively with your floorplan. Assuming the living room has a reasonable boundary setback at the left-hand side, create a path along this boundary to a new entry door behind the living room. You'd need to carefully plan your planting, paving and lighting to make it work, particularly at night, but with care, it could be an effective solution at minimal cost. I'd ask the question from the opposite point of view . What will closing the lounge off achieve ? It may make it look dark , it may make it look pokey , you have Bed 5 the other side of the entry , and although that presumably won't be used much , I'd actually be more inclined to try and hide that door . If you are worried about a steady stream of people heading to the stairs or kitchen , disrupting the people in the lounge , then why would you put the lounge there in the first place ? Enjoy the space , or move the lounge would be my obvious observation .
