Help! What should I put on this entry way wall?
Comments (16)Definitely requires wallpaper or paint. I would probably go a textured wallpaper like a bronze /gold weave wall paper. It will give the area deapth and frame the space to make a statement. You have the furniture and space for it. Large art or a mirror. I would possibly keep it rectangular or squarish. A rug would soften and fill the space but would have to be selected carefully to ensure no tripping hazard. Maybe something patterned (replicated through abstract & lines like the legs of your table, with a pop of colour and upgrade the vase of flowers to reflect this colour. Basis of design is replication whether it is colour, shape or pattern....See Moreliving room and entry way
Comments (10)Hi mitz. The first thing I would do is add a slim timber console table to just inside entry, to serve as a place to drop-off zone for keys, wallet, mail, etc. As there is an electrical outlet there, a table lamp would be useful and provide pleasant lighting. You could hang a mirror over the table or a wall hanging or artwork, if you prefer. Just be sure to keep size in perspective to the console and entry area. A woven basket under the console would add texture and provide a bit of storage. By using an electrical power strip you would be able to tidy up the TV, etc. cords and contain them to one wall outlet. You certainly have the wall space to accomodate a large artwork, perhaps something abstract and colourful? I also love wallhangings. Etsy has a number of artists who will custom create to suit your colours, and also size. Whatever you choose, take your time and be sure you really love it. You could also add a potted plant in a raised pot stand and a basket or two (vary size and shape) for greenery and texture and baskets make great storage containers. A grouping would help fill in wall space as well as be practical. At some point, you may like to add an area rug to ground your lounge area and help delineate it from kitchen/dining space. Take things slow and have a good look around before committing to purchase. I check out our many local op shops for used baskets - I've found some lovely ones to hold magazines, plants and throws in my house. Best wishes!...See MoreHelp! Main entrance on side of house
Comments (8)Hi Have you considered closing in the lounge patio area with horizontal slatted screening? This could have a gate for easy access, if desired Then encourage guests to the right of the garage by installing a path & gardens - perhaps even another screen with a more ornate gate Grow a lovely tall tree to overhang the gate (pointsiana, jacaranda, african tulip tree) and add a water feature Make it worth the effort by decorating the front entrance with a huge pot, decorative screen on the wall and maybe some more greenery From the photos it seems that the area is sealed?? Add some more really big pots with bamboo or fast growing hedging plants to cover the bare wall of the garage Have fun with your project...See MoreBuffet Table for Entry Hall Way.....suggestions
Comments (7)You just need to purchase an appropriate width console for that space. There are a lot on the market which are 1200mm or less. Which would be 100mm either side of console table. As @bigreader has said a large indoor plant may look better in the corner. Add a floor runner to add texture and warmth....See MoreAnhar Fazal
