First ,is removing excess furniture an option? Second, why bar fridge in the dining area, that really ruins the look. Seems that you can not move dining table closer to the kitchen because you have light pendant above the table, so can you move piano where your black couch is and couch on the other side of the room instead of creamy colour sofa . I notice the luck of coffee tables and side tables, that's probably why you like to sit around dining table, it is not visitors friendly and doesn't encourage conversation or interaction. I will come back to it have to study photos more. Are the arm chain the other room similar colour to the couch in the dining area?

I took all mine out of the frames and placed them in a folio. When I need a change I swap them into the frames on the wall. I never get bored. You can't do this with some mediums such as oil and charcoal as they will damage. I also took photos and turned them into a coffee table book. Kate

bigreader has had some excellent tips. The rug you've chosen is lovely, but you definitely need a bigger size. A larger rectangle size might have more underneath the couch. You can check out online options. The blue is fantastic, once you have that repeated around both areas your room will have much better flow. One other thing to think about when you are ready to change your lounge is to get something with a lower back (same with dining chair), these help a more visual flow than high back chairs.

my sister had to originally put her washer dryer at one end of the kitchen, european style. She actually found it way more convenient, and so when she got to upgrade and do over the kitchen, one end of the galley became the butlers pantry with washer and dryer in there as well. maybe it could work, but given all the advice above, I think avoiding moving walls is going to be important. Gosh, hopefully everyone's advice helps! Don't worry and take your time, I have been in my old house a year and I think i came up with 4 different floor plans before i realised what I needed to do. keep thinking it over and one day it will just hit you what needs to be done.
