If you are keeping the rug, take the blue or pink out of it, and use that as paint colour. Only problem is I think the rug may be too small. We like to consider each room as a whole, can you post different views please? Leave out things you're not keeping in there.

Hey Dounia The colour and the way it has been painted is very much what we saw in the late 90's and early 2000's when we all went through the textured paint feature wall craze. But, saying that Paint and design technology have come a long way since then and I would encourage you not to give up on the copper idea and use a modern approach and product. As said by big reader...leave white or paint the same colour, without the brushed finish, on the other walls. You can not bring another colour in. There is enough colour already with the orange wood and the bed cover. Also, the curtains look too small to pull right across your window correctly. They should be waved not flat when closed.

Since the tv is black and dominates the room, I would choose black frames. I would start with a large artwork on the corner near the red thing in your photo. Black will stand out on the walls. And a large tall plant in the other corner. With a small black framed artwork. Can you position a clock on the wall to the left of the television. Then it can be seen while you are on the sofas. Assuming the dining room is adjacent to the lounge room, it can also been seen from there. I would go for a black frame large interesting textured clock.
