I've just started that joyful feeling of revamping my old furniture. Nice pieces when we bought them not as great a look now but of course it's still quality too good to throw....the after pics are very satisfying

Looks as if the far corner of the triangle is the utility source. Water, gas?, power? These can be expensive to move. Not clear on climate at the location, Looks like it is somewhere warm :) two fridges one quite old so maybe a chest freezer would be more economical/useful. I recall a friend from Qld who put everything in the fridge :) Cupboards were mostly bare of food unless it was perfectly air and insect proof. The carved wooden pieces could perhaps be moved to another area? they are probably grease and dust traps in the kitchen as they don't seem to be functional storage. That would give you another shelf in the short term. Can't see the stove so it is a bit hard to see the wash, cook, fridge triangle. Agree that a considered rethink is the way to go

A glass dinning table with dark timber legs in a X cross look in the middle of table will be ideal . You can still see the beautiful floor tiles and the dark timber legs will look amazing over the grey tiles. Have full fabric greyish brown chairs with same leg as the table.

I'll offer another suggestion . I assume you have a TV somewhere along the wall where the sliding doors are ? Take out one shelf at the end of the lounge -- the one that has the word Home on it -- redistribute everything or move some to other rooms etc . Put the TV there . Then swing the couch around and make it almost a natural break . At an approx guess , you'll have somewhere around 1.5 metres extra , so probably move one end of the couch towards the wall , giving somewhere to walk through . That then leaves about 1/3rd of that area for dining . Having said all of that , like others , I still can't understand why you want two eating areas side by side , surely the logical thing is to have 1 eating area , using the largest of the tables etc ? And on that vein , and the fact that there isn't a TV in view or on the plan , is it possible you also have another lounge or family room or rumpus room etc somewhere else too ?
