Extending their current kitchen gave this family the open plan kitchen, dining and family space they were looking for. Beautiful in-frame cabinets in a simple Shaker style, painted in Farrow and Ball Cornforth White keep things fresh and airy. An island with casual seating and decorative display unit also hides the microwave out of sight. A solid planked oak worktop on the island picks up the oak flooring colour to add warmth to the room. The pared down layout keeps this classic kitchen beautifully on-trend. Marble-like quartz worktops keep the colour scheme pale and interesting while being extremely practical. We were very excited to design this kitchen with its brand new Orangery extension. Our clients wanted the kitchen area to flow seamlessly into the sunny Orangery where easy living and entertaining were the order of the day and with a utility area (nicely doubling up as well organised wine store!) out of view but accessible. This Inframe kitchen and Lay-On utility space are all handmade and hand painted in Farrow & Ball’s Off White which showcases the very best of the Handmade in Hitchin range. Hand crafted furniture is carefully considered both for the traditional setting and the client’s desire to create a space to entertain, cook and relax with family and friends. Throughout, natural Walnut was chosen to complement the hand painted furniture. The solid Planked Walnut breakfast bar and shelves are beautifully paired with the Colonial Cream granite worktops. The dovetail drawers and thoughtfully designed cutlery and spice trays are again made from solid walnut. It’s these elements, that aren’t always on view that make Planet’s kitchens unique. There are aspects of this kitchen which is set it apart from the ordinary – the upper level Island area which is perfectly ‘bar height’ for propping against with a glass or two; the tall Pantry Units which handsomely flank Neff ovens and, practically, keep a cook’s arsenal out of view; the Breakfast Cupboard which is accessible and easily hidden – perfect for a large family! Simple bronze finish handles complete the understated and timeless look of this kitchen.

Recent kitchen design with copper glass splash back is really stunning against the Mackintosh in frame Ivory kitchen units. This large family kitchen in Lyndhurst features LED lighting underneath the wall units to really highlight this beautiful copper splash back. The granite worktop is Indian ivory chosen to contrast well with the copper splash back, Blanco sink and Franke tap. All appliances are Neff electrical with the exception of a gas hob. Client's brief was very clear - large French Farmhouse style kitchen, with plenty of display cabinets to show off all of their colourful crockery and ornaments, and a generous island with cooktop, so that the cook can be facing guests. The designer was able to incorporate all this, and also include an area for island seating - perfect for that cuppa with a friend. This beautiful kitchen also features a walk-in pantry, butler's sink and feature plate-racks. The client's own flair with accessories and colours, pretty subway tiles and the beautiful pendant light, create a space that is stylish, light-hearted and a pleasure to work in.
