Contemporary Brown, Blue Pool Design Ideas with Natural Stone Pavers

Our design featured a contemporary circular swim zone, surrounded by a concentric ring of regeneration zone on one side, bordered with a geometrically aligned deck. The pool utilises a hybrid filtration system, giving it the tranquil beauty of water plants while the biological filter takes care of most of the hard work. A marginal shelf of native perennials seamlessly transitions into a gravel garden surrounding the pool. The deck, made from Brimstone ash, cleverly hides access hatches to the filtration system beneath. For the pool’s edge, we selected sawn sandstone coping with a soft bullnose finish, creating a contemporary yet elegant border where the swim zone meets the gravel garden. These clean lines give the circular pool a modern, polished look. Positioned like a perfect lens of water within the garden, the pool complements the contemporary design of the property. It reflects the surrounding mature birch trees and the dramatic hues of the sunset, and is visible from every viewpoint in the house, making it the focal point of the landscape.

Our client’s wanted classically styled gardens, built upon a semi-formal framework. They requested level spaces for the kids to play on and a swimming pool, which was to be the hero of the project. The result speaks for itself. This large garden is made up of different ‘pockets’ – a vegetable garden, formal front garden, large grassed area for the kids to play, a pool area, a patio for entertaining and a small relaxation garden that houses a stunning water feature. Our planting schedule included Viburnum, Japanese Box Hedging, Hydrangea’s, Gardenia’s and Ornamental Pear trees. Luxury internal swimming pool for client. We used stone walls and conic skylights (inspired by hamams in Turkey) to create a light and open space. At night the changing colour of lights create a relaxing atmosphere to swim of practice yoga.

Designed by Minke Avant-Garde pools. Large wet deck pool incorporating a Large family pool, kiddy play area, and spa with floating steppers. The spa has glass dividing wall detail. The pool has in-floor cleaning, L.E.D lighting, overflow gutter leading to balance tank located under deck. Balance tank also has infloor cleaning system. Floating steppers set 7mm higher than water spill level so steps remain dry. Pool finished with black flamed granite wet edge paver and floating steps, pool fully tiled in 20mm ceramic mosaic pool tile. Hydraulically complex pool design with equally complex equipment set up makes for a very simple, modern and elegant look poolside.

The entire rear area is paved in gorgeous blond travertine in a brick bond pattern. The boundary walls have been rendered and a stone water feature and iron decorative piece have been installed above the pool. Merbau has been used for the pool decking, bench seat and flower boxes. All the colours and textures have been chosen to complement one another. The pebble sideway with travertine steppers and exotic grasses has been designed so the utilities and pool equipment are easily accessible, whilst still looking stylish. The fences have been painted a dark grey and a decorative screen hides away the boring ugly stuff like bins and air-conditioning units. The electric blue pool, the vibrant green Ficus ‘Hillii’ manicured trees and brightly coloured coverage plants all work so well to pop against the pale palette of the walls and paving. A strategically placed garden lighting system makes everything come life at night, making it absurd not to take full advantage of having your own private villa landscape right outside your back door!
