Rich walnut is the perfect choice of timber for the statement island in this design, as it adds a sense of exclusivity and intensity that’s perfect for an island of this size. Painted panels add an interesting, eye catching element to the island and helps to keep everything feeling fresh and different. The owners wanted a space to entertain family and friends- cook, eat, and socialise together. So Naked Kitchens designed a kitchen that was perfect for this. The cool, patterned floor feels natural and contrasts perfectly with the rich walnut timber and cool, neutral cabinetry. The classic shaker cabinets are perfect in this property, they are simple and sophisticated and sit perfectly alongside the elegant marble. A corner of the room is designated as a coffee making station- what a wonderful room to entertain in and come down to breakfast to every morning. Taking inspiration from elements of both American and Belgian kitchen design, this custom crafted kitchen is a reflection of its owner’s personal taste. Rather than going for two contrasting colours, one sole shade has been selected in Helen Turkington Goat’s Beard to achieve a serene scheme, teamed with Calacatta marble work surfaces and splashback for a luxurious finish. Balancing form and function, practical storage solutions have been created to accommodate all kitchen essentials, with generous space dedicated to larder storage, integrated refrigeration and a concealed breakfast station in one tall run of beautifully crafted furniture.

This bespoke kitchen / dinning area works as a hub between upper floors and serves as the main living area. Delivering loads of natural light thanks to glass roof and large bespoke french doors. Notting Hill is one of the most charming and stylish districts in London. This apartment is situated at Hereford Road, on a 19th century building, where Guglielmo Marconi (the pioneer of wireless communication) lived for a year; now the home of my clients, a french couple. The owners desire was to celebrate the building's past while also reflecting their own french aesthetic, so we recreated victorian moldings, cornices and rosettes. We also found an iron fireplace, inspired by the 19th century era, which we placed in the living room, to bring that cozy feeling without loosing the minimalistic vibe. We installed customized cement tiles in the bathroom and the Burlington London sanitaires, combining both french and british aesthetic. We decided to mix the traditional style with modern white bespoke furniture. All the apartment is in bright colors, with the exception of a few details, such as the fireplace and the kitchen splash back: bold accents to compose together with the neutral colors of the space. We have found the best layout for this small space by creating light transition between the pieces. First axis runs from the entrance door to the kitchen window, while the second leads from the window in the living area to the window in the bedroom. Thanks to this alignment, the spatial arrangement is much brighter and vaster, while natural light comes to every room in the apartment at any time of the day. Ola Jachymiak Studio

Abbiamo adottato per questa ristrutturazione completa uno stile classico contemporaneo, partendo dalla cucina caratterizzandola dalla presenza di tratti e caratteristiche tipici della tradizione, prima di tutto le ante a telaio, con maniglia incassata. Questo stile e arredo sono connotati da un’estetica senza tempo, basati su un progetto che punta su una maggiore ricerca di qualità nei materiali (il legno appunto e la laccatura, tradizionale o a poro aperto) e completate da dettagli high tech, funzionali e moderni. Disposizioni e forme sono attuali nella loro composizione del vivere contemporaneo. Gli spazi sono stati studiati nel minimo dettaglio, per sfruttare e posizionare tutto il necessario per renderla confortevole ad accogliente, senza dover rinunciare a nulla.

This tired kitchen was updated with new paint, cabinetry, appliances and splashback tiles. It's been transformed into a calm and serene space with loads of additional storage including deep drawers for this small family that loves to cook. The subtle green cabinetry is soothing and modern, yet classic and timeless.

What was once a dark and disused space at the back of the house, has now been transformed into the hub of the family home; housing a generous and sociable kitchen space that can be enjoyed by all. The incorporation of an extension, has not only provided more space in the room, but allowed considerable amounts of natural light to flow through the space. The kitchen design was inspired by the Victorian architecture of the property, including the beaded Shaker doors and cornices around the kitchen units, but with a contemporary tone that reflects current trends. With the non-negotiable width of the room, we had to ensure we were providing enough storage for our clients. To do this, we focused on raising some kitchen units to the ceiling, which not only provided a cohesive design but also allowed for ample storage options.
