Countertop Pairing With Cabinetry
Gorgeous use of wood on island to harmonize with rafters and flooring
This counter/backsplash is for too dark with these dark cabinets.
Repetition of black elements is what makes this visually successful
Floor tile, backsplash tile and cabinetry all work well with traditional and rustic
Notice how the wood elements including island top and shelves really pop against the white here. It adds a lot. All white would not be so satisfying as this
Great cabinet with counter combo
Love the rich warm/grey natural wood grain cabinetry here.
Blue and white. Blue with stainless appliances is quite nice
White cabs with grey counter in distance with backsplash of white & grey
White with grey veined white marble, very nice
This creamy white looks great with the warm cherry, just as nice and less formal than jet black
Great example of subtle neutrals being used against white for contrast.
I find this both a bit jarring and boring. Why? t/he backsplash with all the narrow tiles is a bit too “noisy”, and there is a missed opportunity to have brought in some contrast on the island countertop. If you love the backslash, why not replace the White Island countertop with a darker one in the same tones as the backslash. This would create far more interest and harmony.
Yet again a perfect blend of warm light-cherry cabs with rich dark/black counters. Cabs Harmonize with the flooring too, and the white ceiling above adds contrast and a sense of openness. The huge window doesn’t hurt either.
OK. Nice look. Great backsplash. Nice to see some contrast on the island by adding wood here. What could make it even more satisfying would be to thicken up that wood top, creating a beefier, chunkier top, that is all about the edge treatment.
OK, so here is a very successful “all-white” kitchen. Why? The subtle shift from crisp white on the cabs to soft grey veining on the marble slab gives just enough contrast and visual interest. One additional note: here the same slab is used for both counter and backsplash. A very clean look. If this is not true marble the clean up should be a breeze. Remember, true marble, however beautiful does tend to stain easily. Be prepared to embrace the aging effect that will be produced from oils, red wine, etc.
Notice the beauty of the contrast of dark countertop on light cabinetry. The darker counter is reflected again in the dark flooring also a horizontal plane. A great look giving far more interest and pop than simply all-white.
The dark, nearly black is a wonderful match to the warmth of the cherry cabinets.
Love the wooden countertop island
