Adam's House Ideas
Less conventional, but carries a lot of the same styles I normally jump on, but very much updated. High windows in second floor look like they'd make it very open. The awning on the front door and on the garage door are really great. Garage door is fantastic-looking....not very theft-proof though, only good for parking-garage, not the shop garage.
Craftsman look. Diamond windows are a nice touch. Pergola-style coverings over the second-story windows are a nice touch. Standing-seam awning over the right-side bay window is great. Those always look really sharp in copper, as much as it's probably too much for the first-floor porch cover in this case. I really like copper roofs.
Great craftsman style. Covered porch that's also a balcony. Excellent colour choices. Indoor-outdoor fireplace is a really nice touch, the 45-degree installation angle adds geometric interest that dresses up the older visual style without taking anything away. Great railings, stone pillars, attached 2-car with the pergola awning structure over the garage doors...everything.
Love the barrel-style ceiling under the porch. Craftsman taper on the pillars is my style. Siding over stone. Covered porch. Dormers. Great colours. Door lites around the door and above are great-looking. Beautiful porch approach - love the wood treads with white risers...that's a look that always gets me both inside and out.
Holy windows, batman. That's impractical, but awesome.
Breezeway between house and garage is a nice feature. Covered porch & good-looking wood door.
Beautiful door with the extra side and top lites. Big covered porch is great space. Don't love the hip roof, I prefer a standard roofline. 2-car attached garage for parking.
Stone steps. That round window is neat up top. I like the white-trim on colored background, although I think I like exposed woodwork a little more (darker-stained visible millwork and supports).
Love the courtyard layout. Really fantastic.
Clean lines. Balcony. Exposed woodwork. I like the close-in patio, outdoor access and pool too, but that might work better in a warmer climate...
White trim on green/grey/blue trim always gets me. Roofline, covered porch. Great railing on the porch. Nice staircase to porch.
Several rooflines play together well. Multiple roof angles on garage add interest. Great-looking wood doors & door-lights. Pebble drive looks incredible, but the tires on the truck would probably spread it all over the place.
Doesn't jump out like the winter-mountain house, but it's unconventional. Big windows, exposed woodwork, bluestone-looking walkway with chevron stonework is a nice touch. Awnings are a nice touch over the windows. Stone arch.
This one jumps off the page at me. Exposed natural woodwork under the eaves, stonework pillars, vertical siding, earthy color palette, big covered porch (several in this case, although that looks like it's due to interplay with the landscape, it's pretty flat where I live). Great room with big windows running to the roof. I don't see anything I don't like here, it's fantastic.
Too much white for me...good use of wood over the island. Nice open-concept space for entertaining while cooking, country sink in the island looking over full-height windows. Could use a higher ceiling.
industrial-ish lights, pendants over island, island with seating, wood ceiling that looks trendy and not log-cabin-y. Square pot lights - is that a fad? I like them a lot, and they run well with the wood. High ceiling & big windows. Contrasting woodwork colors between wall and cupboards.
doors, vertical siding, open supports under awnings over doors...plus the awnings too, they look great and probably function too. Nice-looking broken up roofline.
