White and wood make an appearance in the summer’s most-saved photos
The pairing of white and wood, a popular combination in many rooms, is also sought after in the bathroom. Here are the 10 most popular bathroom photos uploaded from July through September, as measured by the number of people who saved them to their Houzz ideabooks, starting with No. 10.
9. Simply dark. Dark wall tiles give a room an elegant look, says designer Rebecca Dall of Dall Designer Homes. She paired the large-format tiles with custom cabinetry that has simple lines with clever storage. Because the shelves are set into the wall, the homeowners have storage but didn’t have to give up any floor space.

8. Wooden highlights. The wooden countertop floats above the floor in this bathroom by PLANtoBUILD. The design team then paired the rich tone with a swath of gray tiles and a hanging vanity light, also with wood tones.
The floating elements help give the bathroom a light and airy feel.

7. Tile style. The mix of tile brings this bathroom by designer Francisco X. Arredondo of North Arrow Studio to life amid a palette of white, gray and wood.
The walls are lined with handcrafted 2-by-20-inch ceramic tile in two colors, with the darker of them flowing under the tub. The floor of the vanity area has larger gray tiles.

6. Pattern-happy. Sita Montgomery of Sita Montgomery Interiors loves so many things about this bathroom, but the patterned tile and custom gridded shower doors are her favorites. The floor tile instantly makes a statement, she says, but your eye also falls on details like the shiplap behind the vanity and the brass fixtures that warm up the room.

5. Shower accent. The patterned tile draws the eye in this small bathroom, where the designer made the shower the focal point. The glass panel enhances the effect.

4. Naturally relaxing. Natural tones mix with sleek white features, such as the Blu Bathworks tub, to create this calm, refreshing space designed by Jessica Maktal of Aerial Design and Build. The spacious area allowed the homeowners to have a tub and shower, all within the same footprint of handmade mosaic cement tile.
Maktal paired the tiles with teak shelves in the niche and a solid teak vanity.

3. Focused on the tub. The restrained color palette here helps showcase the tub and its wall of hexagonal tiles, says architect Anthony Gosling of Glenvill Homes. Besides keeping to simple colors, he hid the toilet and shower in the design, so as not to distract from that feature wall.

2. Country cozy. The natural light, walk-in shower and neutral color palette make this bathroom feel spacious, even though it’s more on the cozy side, says Charlotte Jenkins of Unique Home Stays. Overhead, the bathroom has its original wood beams; underfoot, designer Paul Hervey added tiles with a wood look.
“The secluded woodland setting is mirrored in everything from the color of the walls to the rustic beams ceilings, creating a truly relaxing space where you can feel at one with nature,” Jenkins says.

1. Visual impact. A statement tub sits alongside a grand shower in this bathroom designed by Rachael Lewis and Bradley Barnett of Barnett Lewis. The window above the tub not only gives the homeowners a lot of light in the space, but it also offers great views of Mount Rainier.
