This family with three young children wanted to maximise every single inch of space for play and outdoor living, regardless of the season. The existing landscaping had broken the garden into a series of small areas which did not function as well as they could. Most of the existing planting was removed and retaining walls created flat spaces. Artificial turf means the children can play outside right through winter without getting wet and muddy. For the adults, a generous multilevel deck was provided which provides ample space for dining, cooking and relaxing while still watching the children. There was even space for a spa. Louvretech louvres mean the outdoor living area can be used regardless of the weather. The existing fences and retaining walls were given a fresh lease of life with Resene Waterborned Woodsman Equilibrium and a new colour palette (Resene Eighth Stonewall and Resene Double Stonewall) was also provided for the house and roof. The front lawn was hydroseeded for a lush result and new plants with beautiful foliage and seasonal interest will create a lush backdrop and street appeal as they mature.
