This bathroom is in the 1960s home of one of our wonderful Chapel Hill clients. The client was looking for a beautiful, elegant, and functional space, great for guests, their kids, and family use. We are in love with the way the aqua cabinetry turned out and the beautiful Caesarstone countertop looks fabulous with clean white under-mount sink and sleek white shower wall tile. The warm gray paint, selected by the homeowner, is the perfect backdrop. Natural stone-look ceramic floor tile serves to ground the space and the brushed nickel fittings are just the right choice to finish off the look perfectly. Italian Style Lower Level Bathroom

An Italian style tile that flows seamlessly into the frameless shower enclosure is the focal point of this bathroom renovation. Using that same tile we created a six hook towel rack for the homeowner. Borrowing color from the tile, the homeowners chose a beautiful navy blue vanity with brushed nickel hardware, Cambria quartz countertops and a brushed nickel faucet.

The Summit Project consisted of architectural and interior design services to remodel a house. A design challenge for this project was the remodel and reconfiguration of the second floor to include a primary bathroom and bedroom, a large primary walk-in closet, a guest bathroom, two separate offices, a guest bedroom, and adding a dedicated laundry room. An architectural study was made to retrofit the powder room on the first floor. The space layout was carefully thought out to accommodate these rooms and give a better flow to the second level, creating an oasis for the homeowners.

For example, in a narrow room a freestanding bathtub may not work, and a one-wall layout that lines up shower, toilet and vanity on the same wall will make sense in most cases. (It’s also the most budget-friendly option in terms of plumbing). Maybe separate rooms for toilet and shower make sense? Maybe you want to work with a window above a bathtub or in the shower. You may live in an old house where you can keep some of the original character of the home, or you may be working with a small apartment space. 2 Consider How You Use Your Bathroom

Once you’ve gathered some inspiration, have a think about who is using the room, and how they will be using it. You may also want to accommodate a washer and dryer in the bathroom, since it’s where clothes are taken off frequently. Also consider safety and cleaning.
