In 2019 this bathroom was remodeled for the five boys to use. The window in this bathroom was closed to allow for the addition, but this bathroom was able to get an updated layout and within the addition another bathroom was added. The homeowners’ love for blue and white became the cornerstone of this bathroom’s design. To achieve their vision of a ship-inspired space, we introduced a color scheme that seamlessly blended these two favorite hues. The bathroom features two sinks, each with round mirrors and three blue light fixtures, giving it a nautical charm that is both calming and cohesive with the rest of this home’s updates. The bathroom boasts a range of functional and aesthetic elements, including painted cabinets that complement the color scheme, Corian countertops that offer a sleek and easy-to-maintain surface, and a wood-grained tile floor that adds warmth and texture to the space. The use of white and blue subway tile, wainscot tile surrounding the room, and black hardware create a nautical vibe that’s not only visually appealing but also durable. Stainless faucets and hooks (rather than towel bars) are not only stylish but also practical for a busy bathroom. The nautical elegance of this bathroom is a testament to our commitment to understanding and bringing to life the unique vision of our clients. At Crystal Kitchen, we pride ourselves on creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also highly functional and tailored to your preferences.

Oftentimes homeowners come to us with an idea of how they want to update their space. Through thoughtful discussion and truly understanding their needs, we develop the perfect plan together. The previous bathroom was burdened with a large jacuzzi tub, an outdated fiberglass shower, and limited open floor space. Our approach started with a simple shower and bath update and evolved into a complete reimagining of the bathroom. We prioritized fluidity and functionality, repositioning plumbing and overhauling the floor plan to create a space that seamlessly marries practicality with design impact. The new bathroom features a custom knotty alder vanity with toe kick lighting and a sleek quartz countertop. Above, a defogging LED-lit mirror with touch screen controls adds a modern element to the bright and minimal bathroom aesthetic. The new custom shower blends sophistication with accessibility. Simple yet elegant porcelain fluted tiles and glass partitions frame the space, with a low-threshold entrance and strategically placed grab bars to support accessibility. Inside, a custom product niche with cove lighting adds both aesthetic appeal and functionality. In the end, the reimagined bathroom thoughtfully aligns the homeowner's lifestyle and design preferences.

Download our free ebook, Creating the Ideal Kitchen. DOWNLOAD NOW Our clients were in the market for an upgrade from builder grade in their Glen Ellyn bathroom! They came to us requesting a more spa like experience and a designer’s eye to create a more refined space. A large steam shower, bench and rain head replaced a dated corner bathtub. In addition, we added heated floors for those cool Chicago months and several storage niches and built-in cabinets to keep extra towels and toiletries out of sight. The use of circles in the tile, cabinetry and new window in the shower give this primary bath the character it was lacking, while lowering and modifying the unevenly vaulted ceiling created symmetry in the space. The end result is a large luxurious spa shower, more storage space and improvements to the overall comfort of the room. A nice upgrade from the existing builder grade space! This Master Bathroom was outdated in appearance and although the size of the room was sufficient, the space felt crowded. The toilet location was undesirable, the shower was cramped and the bathroom floor was cold to stand on. The client wanted a new configuration that would eliminate the corner tub, but still have a bathtub in the room, plus a larger shower and more privacy to the toilet area. The 1980’s look needed to be replaced with a clean, contemporary look. A new room layout created a more functional space. A separated space was achieved for the toilet by relocating it and adding a cabinet and custom hanging pipe shelf above for privacy. By adding a double sink vanity, we gained valuable floor space to still have a soaking tub and larger shower. In-floor heat keeps the room cozy and warm all year long. The entry door was replaced with a pocket door to keep the area in front of the vanity unobstructed. The cabinet next to the toilet has sliding doors and adds storage for towels and toiletries and the vanity has a pull-out hair station. Rich, walnut cabinetry is accented nicely with the soft, blue/green color palette of the tiles and wall color. New window shades that can be lifted from the bottom or top are ideal if they want full light or an unobstructed view, while maintaining privacy. Handcrafted swirl pendants illuminate the vanity and are made from 100% recycled glass.

This dated 80s bathroom needed a real transformation. After removing the *cough* carpet from the floor and giant corner tub, we added a larger shower, private WC and gorgeous free-standing tub. The vanity is rift cut white oak with white quartz countertops. Marble-like porcelain flooring and marble wall tile complete the space.
