An adorable but worn down beach bungalow gets a complete remodel and an added roof top deck for ocean views. The design cues for this home started with a love for the beach and a Vetrazzo counter top! Vintage appliances, pops of color, and geometric shapes drive the design and add interest. A comfortable and laid back vibe create a perfect family room. Several built-ins were designed for much needed added storage. A large roof top deck was engineered and added several square feet of living space. A metal spiral staircase and railing system were custom built for the deck. Ocean views and tropical breezes make this home a fabulous beach bungalow.

A custom sink vanity and medicine cabinet updates the bath and adds much needed storage. Calacatta marble sink counter and hexagon mosaic floor were chosen to compliment the flat's Craftsman style. The client's opted to keep the existing deep 1920's tub and we added the subway tile, a new window and glass enclosure. The light fixtures and tub/shower plumbing fixtures, fittings and cabinet hardware are all in a polished nickel finish reminiscent of flats of this era. The interior and exterior of the home was modernized with a complete renovation throughout. The basement was completely updated with the addition of a bedroom and washroom. The main floor has a new kitchen that was opened up to the living room, an updated powder room, new hardwood flooring, pot lights and paint throughout. The existing 2nd floor has an updated bathroom, refinished hardwood flooring and paint. The existing stairs are refinished to complement the style of the new interior finishes. The exterior was refinished with stucco, new windows and a new front entrance.

Home was a personal purchase which including gutting the original 900sq ft. structure and marrying a seamless 1100 sq foot addition. Home’s identity was transformed into a modern, livable, craftsman inspired private residence. The clients desired a vintage ‘farmhouse-style’ bathroom. We enlarged the bathroom by removing the walls around the hallway closet. This added a few more feet to the very tight bathroom. We changed the alcove bath to a more spacious and elegant cast-iron soaker tub with classic bath and shower plumbing fixtures. At the time of this photograph, the white shower curtain had not been installed. We designed the traditional vanity and had our cabinet-maker create this beautiful storage unit and medicine cabinets out of solid wood. We sourced the small hexagon floor tile as well as the elegant Carrera Marble counter top. A calming palette of neutral greys with the bright cabinetry creates a cozy bathroom full of character and charm. Materials used: A traditional custom-made white wood double vanity, custom-made mirrored medicine cabinets, marble counter, top-mounted rectangular traditional sinks, 1 inch marble hexagon floor tile, dark gray 3 x 6 subway wall tiles, traditional claw-foot cast-iron free-standing tub and shower, classic chrome and frosted glass wall sconce, traditional chrome plumbing fixtures, pale grey Sherwin Williams paint.

This bathroom had drab paint and vanity and lighting from the 90s. The homeowner wanted a space to grow with her son as well as a place for overnight guests to use! She wanted an updated space done on a budget. We worked hard to update the space without blowing the budget and added a few features to make it feel balanced, new, and unique!
