Budget demanded keeping the whirlpool tub and existing plumbing locations while transforming the space to a serene environment in keeping with the house. All drawers are functional on the floating vanity not allowing the plumbing trap to take away storage space. Mirrors conceal storage and have contemporary styling and LED lighting. The undulating limestone backsplash adds textural interest with a minimal design. Sleek large-scale brick patterned flooring creates a more tranquil space than the previous black and white checkerboard environment. The clients desired a ‘his and her’ arrangement in this closet that required more organization. Faux wenge melamine doors, instead of wood veneer, met budget requirements. Lucite hardware up the style and frosted glass door panels lighten up the dark finishes and provide neatness and functionality by allowing an orderly way to glimpse what is hidden inside. Large white tile work organized in a subway pattern round out the period style, but with a decidedly modern edge. Making the shower large and curbless was a consideration with the future in mind. "We may need to be able to wheel in and out of there one day!" Stacy jokes. To the right of the shower, the wall opens up to reveal a concealed linen closet.

The serene guest suite in this lovely home has breathtaking views from the third floor. Blue skies abound and on a clear day the Denver skyline is visible. The lake that is visible from the windows is Chatfield Reservoir, that is often dotted with sailboats during the summer months. This comfortable suite boasts an upholstered king-sized bed with luxury linens, a full-sized dresser and a swivel chair for reading or taking in the beautiful views. The opposite side of the room features an on-suite bar with a wine refrigerator, sink and a coffee center. The adjoining bath features a jetted shower and a stylish floating vanity. This guest suite was designed to double as a second primary suite for the home, should the need ever arise.

Das Innendesign mit Material und Möbelauswahl übernimmt meine Frau. Sie ist auch für die Farbenauswahl zuständig. Ich widme mich der Ausführung und dem Grundriss. Alle Holzelemente sind komplett in Eiche gehalten. Einige Variationen in Wildeiche wurden jedoch mit ins Konzept reingenommen. For example, in a narrow room a freestanding bathtub may not work, and a one-wall layout that lines up shower, toilet and vanity on the same wall will make sense in most cases. (It’s also the most budget-friendly option in terms of plumbing). Maybe separate rooms for toilet and shower make sense? Maybe you want to work with a window above a bathtub or in the shower. You may live in an old house where you can keep some of the original character of the home, or you may be working with a small apartment space. All these considerations are vital in deciding on which layout will work best for you. Have a look at some popular ideas to get started.

2 Consider How You Use Your Bathroom

Once you’ve gathered some inspiration, have a think about who is using the room, and how they will be using it. A single guy needs a lot less storage than a teenage girl, and a family bathroom may need to consider elderly family members. Making your bathroom wheelchair accessible could save you thousands down the line. You may also want to accommodate a washer and dryer in the bathroom, since it’s where clothes are taken off frequently. Also consider safety and cleaning. Ensure no-one will slip and hurt themselves, and consider that many little tiles will make for many little nooks for grime to accumulate, whereas big surfaces like a sink that is integrated with the vanity counter, or a big mirror will make wiping down the surface much easier than having sinks sitting on top or an intricately designed mirror.
