Lighting became the conceptual foundation and unifying strategy for the restoration of the heritage building, Dalkieth House as it required minimal or no intervention on the structure itself. Old Western Australian glass bottles were sought and adapted as functional items of beauty, each with their own embodied meaning. These 33 individual items were transformed by Ruth Allen whose skill set resides in her own creative practice of re-purposing, re-cycling and sculpting glass.
