In this simple family room make over the goal was to eliminate the heavy dated brick and shelving. I wanted to help Gail achieve a modern look while maintaining much of the current structure. In order to de-clutter the shelves we remove one shelf on each side. We installed ceramic tile over the existing brick. Eliminating the bookcase valance, we were able to give the room a taller feel.
