Salt + Dirt | Outside DesignWe designed: a new expanded dining patio with a custom pergola to give dappled shade; a nearby water feature burbling sweetly; a sunken lounge surrounded by gardens and trees for privacy; a sweet vine-covered arbor with a swinging bench for morning coffee and afternoon reading. The birds will have a new location for their house/feeder close to habitat and cover- including a Japanese water fountain to bathe in and drink. The sunken lounge will feature a firepit and luxury seating, all under watch of the Garden Buddha featured against a bamboo wall.

Slate walling was used to create a unique sunken seating area with bespoke bee mosaics inlaid into the floor Industrial Corten-steel water features were used to add a contemporary edge. This mix of styles is also reflected in the planting. Large swathes of Wildflower Turf blend into a contemporary cottage/prairie planting scheme to create a striking, yet low maintenance garden. The specific slate walling was chosen for its orange hues and this colour is picked up through the Corten features and the perennial planting.
