If you live in a home long enough, you will eventually get to remodeling the laundry room. Seen as not nearly as essential as a functional kitchen or bath, the lowly laundry room is still a pivotal operational space and even more so when it supports your home-based Pilates business, as was the case in this remodel project. "This really is the story of two different spaces in the home that were probably never really functional at the level most of us would want,” explained Cherie Poissant, Murphy Bros. lead designer on the project. “I’ve seen powder rooms with more functional surface area that this homeowner had in her laundry room,” recalls Poissant. “The previous room had a blind corner, wasted cabinet space and doors that opened up into each other, creating multiple pinch points.”
