After demolition of most of the house, the brick wall chimney and the framing for this room remained. The owners chose to use green resources wherever possible. The insulation throughout the house is made from recycled denim. The large plate glass windows were replaced. The Nanawall french door recycled an outdated sliding glass door. Brazilian cherry, a renewable wood, comprises the hardwood flooring. The original deck was torn down in the demolition. The new deck has 12' deep structural supports and is comprised of ipe wood. Feeney brand deck railing with LED lighting wraps around the deck and continues around the outdoor room. The telescope makes this an inviting room to star gaze. Photograph by Mike Seidl
