The approach to this backyard was to turn the orientation of the design to take attention away from the squareness of the space. A cozy conversation nook was designed with a raised planter behind.

This intimate patio is rich in detail. There are cobble stone edges and pavers, bluestone pavers, landscape lighting and lounging furniture. The plantings were designed for foliage color due to the shady condition.

This weatherboard home was being given a facelift and our client wanted a minimal and modernist style garden to reflect the feel of the home.
A large garage was removed from the rear garden which provided opportunity to create new outdoor spaces such as a paved entertaining area and a new stretch of lawn.
Existing garden beds were given new life with plant species selected to provide a range of textures, colours and scent.
The random slate paving is a standout feature of this garden and the attention to detail by landscaper Oliver Stone has truly brought our design to life.

Another requirement of the Backyard Habitate Certification was a selective list of plants, proven to be favorites of local bird life. Many are natives and others meet other plant characteristics allowed. Japanese Forest Grass, a variety of ferns, Snowberry, Bleeding Heart and the like call out to to those soaring overhead. After moving into a mid-century ranch home on Spokane's South Hill, these homeowners gave the tired landscape a dramatic makeover. The aging asphalt driveway was replaced by precast concrete pavers that coordinate with a new walkway of sandwashed concrete pads. A pared-down front lawn reduces the overall water use of the landscape, while sculptural boulders add character. A small flagstone patio creates a spot to enjoy the outdoors in the courtyard-like area between the house and the towering ponderosa pines. The backyard received a similar update, with a new garden area, water feature, and paver patio anchoring the updated space.

A mini garden makeover to this new home in Bloxham, Oxfordshire. New paved patio using Indian sandstone. A sleeper steps up to the new lawn. A feature raised bed ready for the homeowner to plant with low maintenance planting and companion planting eg salads and flowers. The new garden also features a sandpit with lid for the little one to play safely. We have added a Star jasmine to be trained on the wall to provide fragrance and an Amelanchier tree for spring blossom and great autumn color to give the garden height
Ecoscape Environmental Design
A gentle curving pathway to your front door is seen as more auspicious in feng shui, then the typical 'straight shot path' style of most homes. When the homeowner asked Ecoscape to renovate their front yard to reduce the amount of turf, it made sense to upgrade their walkway. With low-voltage outdoor lighting (smartphone programmable!) and a profusion of blooming color to welcome you, everyday feels abundant with life!
