This family needed a kitchen that could cater for family dining as well as be practical and stylish. This brief was amply met by the clever use of an overhung laminate benchtop on the island, which created the required seating, without compromising on bench space and storage. At the same time, the laminate benchtop allowed for customisation by adding an accent colour to the otherwise white colour scheme, and coordinated with the dark timber floors, black sink and the dark tones of the gas cooktop trivets.
