New Old House
Traditional Kitchen, Seattle | Photo by Elaine Burgess
In the homey, warm kitchen are custom designed solid Cherry cabinets built in a Shaker style with furniture feet, divided lights in the uppers, and the bottom rail on each cabinet door is weighted to add to the visual appeal. The kitchen island has a bar on one end with Shaker legs (built with a very attractive figured cherry) for a spot to sit, two deep drawers and a cupboard beneath the prep sink. A striking stamped stainless steel backsplash over the 6 burner cooktop is the focal point and compliments the apron-front sink, honed granite countertops, and stainless appliances. The classic white subway tile is a bright contrast to the warm woods.
