The Balcony Garden
Our clients, a young newlywed couple, wanted to create a stylish usable area for entertaining friends. The hardwood L-shaped bench seat with hinged lids is not only a practical storage solution but it’s the center piece of this balcony garden. We installed low voltage hood lights in the bench to provide soft ambient lighting at night.
Three Crassula ovate Jade plants in our Tom & Jerry Egg Pots sit within the existing raised planter bed surrounded with Senecio serpens Blue Chalk Sticks. Low voltage LED garden lights accentuate the three Jade plants and bench seating.
This is a great example of how to transform a small balcony into a stylish function entertaining space, which has essentially become another room in of the home.

The Balcony Garden
This rooftop garden in Sydney is a true testament to how an inner-city apartment can be transformed and softened. We designed the hardwood timber screen and raised planter box, planted with Crasula ovate, in an attempt to break up and soften all the concrete surrounding the balcony. Tom & Jerry Egg Pots with Raphiolepis indica ‘Oriental Pearl’ and under-planted with Dichondra ‘Silver Falls’ highlight the corners of the balcony while a large Yucca elephantipes under-planted with Dichondra ‘Silver Falls’ sits in a Tom & Jerry Rubix.
A cascading Barney Rubble water feature helps to distract from the busy city below. The furniture was designed to create a lounging and dining area with the same rooftop garden.

The Balcony Garden
The brief from our client was to create a lounging and dining area with furniture, pots and plants that were in keeping with the Breakfast Point style. It’s important that balcony gardens complement the apartment and that was certainly the case with this sun-filled unit.
A row of our Tom & Jerry Egg Pots with Raphiolepis indica ‘Oriental Pearl’ and under-planted with Dichondra ‘Silver Falls’ sits along the front of the balcony without taking away from the beautiful outlook. We were also asked to specify and supply the furniture for this project.
