Our design team listened to our clients and created a modern galley-style kitchen, with a huge amount of benchtop space, incorporating the cooktop in the island, to suit the chef style cooking, perfect for their TV shows.
We accomplished this transformation by doing a rip-off and replace and change the footprint of their kitchen area.
The Renovation Experts we connected our clients with did an amazing job, bringing to life the renovation designs and making our clients extremely happy.
This kitchen has been featured on the TV show "THE LIVING ROOM"

View of an L-shaped kitchen with a central island in a side return extension in a Victoria house which has a sloping glazed roof. The shaker style cabinets with beaded frames are painted in Little Greene Obsidian Green. The handles a brass d-bar style. The worktop on the perimeter units is Iroko wood and the island worktop is honed, pencil veined Carrara marble. A single bowel sink sits in the island with a polished brass tap with a rinse spout. Vintage Holophane pendant lights sit above the island. The black painted sash windows are surrounded by non-bevelled white metro tiles with a dark grey grout. A Wolf gas hob sits above double Neff ovens with a black, Falcon extractor hood over the hob. The flooring is hexagon shaped, cement encaustic tiles. Black Anglepoise wall lights give directional lighting.

The new galley style configuration features a simple work triangle of a Kitchenaid refrigerator, Wolf range and Elkay sink. With plenty of the seating nearby, we opted to utilize the back of the island for storage. In addition, the two tall cabinets flanking the opening of the breakfast room feature additional pantry storage. An appliance garage to the left of the range features roll out shelves.
The tall cabinets and wall cabinets feature simple white shaker doors while the base cabinets and island are Benjamin Moore “Hale Navy”. Hanstone Campina quartz countertops, walnut accents and gold hardware and lighting make for a stylish and up-to-date feeling space.
The backsplash is a 5" Natural Stone hex. Faucet is a Litze by Brizo in Brilliant Luxe Gold. Hardware is It Pull from Atlas in Vintage Brass and Lighting was purchased by the owner from Schoolhouse Electric.

When designing this beautiful kitchen, we knew that our client’s favorite color was blue. Upon entering the home, it was easy to see that great care had been taken to incorporate the color blue throughout. So, when our Designer Sherry knew that our client wanted an island, she jumped at the opportunity to add a pop of color to their kitchen.
Having a kitchen island can be a great opportunity to showcase an accent color that you love or serve as a way to showcase your style and personality. Our client chose a bold saturated blue which draws the eye into the kitchen. Shadow Storm Marble countertops, 3x6 Bianco Polished Marble backsplash and Waypoint Painted Linen floor to ceiling cabinets brighten up the space and add contrast. Arabescato Carrara Herringbone Marble was used to add a design element above the range.
The major renovations performed on this kitchen included:
A peninsula work top and a small island in the middle of the room for the range was removed. A set of double ovens were also removed in order for the range to be moved against the wall to allow the middle of the kitchen to open up for the installment of the large island. Placing the island parallel to the sink, opened up the kitchen to the family room and made it more inviting.
The Cousins
Because the client for this project is a chef each part of the design had to perform as well as look good. The traditional white scheme is set off by subtle touches of pink in the backsplash and the veins of the marble counter top. An enameled farmhouse sink brings a little bit of the countryside into this urban location. A five burner cook top, sprayer style faucet and ample fridge pack tons of function into the small space. Simon Taylor Furniture
This open plan galley style kitchen was designed and made for a client with a duplex penthouse apartment in a listed Victorian property in Mayfair, London W1. While the space was limited, the specification was to be of the highest order, using fine textured materials and premium appliances. Simon Taylor Furniture was chosen to design and make all the handmade and hand-finished bespoke furniture for the project in order to perfectly fit within the space, which includes a part-vaulted wall and original features including windows on three elevations.
The client was keen for a sophisticated natural neutral look for the kitchen so that it would complement the rest of the living area, which features a lot of natural light, pale walls and dark accents. Simon Taylor Furniture suggested the main cabinetry be finished in Fiddleback Sycamore with a grey stain, which contrasts with black maple for the surrounds, which in turn ties in with the blackened timber floor used in the kitchen.
The kitchen is positioned in the corner of the top floor living area of the apartment, so the first consideration was to produce a peninsula to separate the kitchen and living space, whilst affording views from either side. This is used as a food preparation area on the working side with a 90cm Gaggenau Induction Hob and separate Downdraft Extractor. On the other side it features informal seating beneath the Nero Marquina marble worksurface that was chosen for the project. Next to the seating is a Gaggenau built-under wine conditioning unit to allow easy access to wine bottles when entertaining.
The floor to ceiling tall cabinetry houses a Gaggenau 60cm oven, a combination microwave and a warming drawer, all centrally banked above each other. Within the cabinetry, smart storage was featured including a Blum ‘space tower’ in Orion Grey with glass fronts to match the monochrome scheme. The fridge freezer, also by Gaggenau is positioned along this run on the other side. To the right of the tall cabinetry is the sink run, housing the Kohler sink and Quooker Flex 3-in-1 Boiling Water Tap, the Gaggenau dishwasher and concealed bin cabinets, thus allowing all the wet tasks to be located in one space.

Applegate Tran Interiors
The decision to remodel your kitchen isn't one to take lightly. But, if you really don't enjoy spending time there, it may be time for a change. That was the situation facing the owners of this remodeled kitchen, says interior designer Vernon Applegate.
"The old kitchen was dismal," he says. "It was small, cramped and outdated, with low ceilings and a style that reminded me of the early ‘80s."
It was also some way from what the owners – a young couple – wanted. They were looking for a contemporary open-plan kitchen and family room where they could entertain guests and, in the future, keep an eye on their children. Two sinks, dishwashers and refrigerators were on their wish list, along with storage space for appliances and other equipment.
Applegate's first task was to open up and increase the space by demolishing some walls and raising the height of the ceiling.
"The house sits on a steep ravine. The original architect's plans for the house were missing, so we needed to be sure which walls were structural and which were decorative," he says.
With the walls removed and the ceiling height increased by 18 inches, the new kitchen is now three times the size of the original galley kitchen.
The main work area runs along the back of the kitchen, with an island providing additional workspace and a place for guests to linger.
A color palette of dark blues and reds was chosen for the walls and backsplashes. Black was used for the kitchen island top and back.
"Blue provides a sense of intimacy, and creates a contrast with the bright living and dining areas, which have lots of natural light coming through their large windows," he says. "Blue also works as a restful backdrop for anyone watching the large screen television in the kitchen."
A mottled red backsplash adds to the intimate tone and makes the walls seem to pop out, especially around the range hood, says Applegate. From the family room, the black of the kitchen island provides a visual break between the two spaces.
"I wanted to avoid people's eyes going straight to the cabinetry, so I extended the black countertop down to the back of the island to form a negative space and divide the two areas," he says.
"The kitchen is now the axis of the whole public space in the house. From there you can see the dining room, living room and family room, as well as views of the hills and the water beyond."

This "scullery" style kitchen was designed with clean lines and soft, yet preppy, finishes in mind. The two tone design is weighted by a large single level island in quartered white oak. Its presence keeps the space warm and friendly despite the monochromatic calmness of the perimeter. Stacked cabinets take advantage of our 10' ceiling height and glass cabinets appear to extend the window view.
