Completed in 2012, this property features an entirely renovated garden and pool area that includes a custom designed guilt iron pavilion. This pavilion features exquisite detailing in the columns and the roof. The pavilion features gas lanterns and subtle landscape lighting to make it come alive in the evenings. The pavilion sits above a completely renovated swimming pool with all new travertine decking and coping. New LED lighting has been added to the pool along with illuminated bubbler jets in the tanning ledge. The gardens along side the pool area are lined with a boxwood parterre and lush landscaping. An upper courtyard terrace features an outdoor cooking area and fireplace with seating area. A wonderful renovation project.

This beautiful, all-cedar privacy fence warmly welcomes visitors and keeps the eyes looking around the yard. The arbor extends over the patio to continue the green-black trim to better frame the white house. The HVAC units have been fenced in with a visual screen that lets airflow through - and the panels are removable for maintenance access. We also replaced the old planter boxes on the front windows.
Phantom Screens
At the heart of the picturesque orchards and wineries of the Okanagan Valley and located in Kelowna stands this imposing family home. Surrounded by beautifully designed and immaculately kept gardens, the house is a charming combination of luxurious indoor space and stunning landscaped exterior.
The owners extensively remodeled the house and added the front veranda and the swimming pool, as well as a back porch and patio to enjoy an unrestricted view of the extensive manicured gardens. The porch is used as an entertaining space and acts as a transition between indoors and outside.
The homeowners love their covered porch and the protection from the elements it offers — allowing them to enjoy their gardens whatever the weather. From the end of winter to the last days of fall they like to sit, relax and entertain. Unfortunately, especially in the height of summer, they suffered the unwanted attention of insects and had to retreat indoors. So they looked for a screen solution which would act as a barrier to insects without obstructing the view of their backyard and not take away from the simple and elegant design of their porch.
The homeowners chose retractable screens as the best screen solution suitable for their porch. The view of the gardens was very important and therefore the screens had to be retractable when not in use. The screens also needed to be easy to operate, simple to maintain, and easy to fit in with the owners’ lifestyle.
After full consultation with the couple, Phantom Screens’ BC Interior Division recommended motorized Executive Screens by Phantom® recessed into the porch’s archways to maintain the clean lines of the home’s design. The screens are completely out of sight when not in use, and can be lowered by the simple press of a button on a remote control or a control pad located near the door.
The installation of the screens has enabled the homeowners to thoroughly enjoy their garden, as well as allowing the exterior spaces of their home to be used comfortably from early spring to late fall.

A custom panel was designed and ordered to fill this void. The design was carefully considered with silver birch leaves strategically placed. The design of this panels sees a slightly heavier leaf pattern to offer additional privacy.

Bridgewater
It continued with a unique privacy wall that uses an interesting latticework idea. The latticework uses both 1 X 1 and 1 X 4 inch cedar in a sequence of 3 one inch, followed by 1-four inch strip. The design creates privacy by obscuring views at indirect angles, while letting summer breezes through.

In the heart of Philadelphia, a single family townhouse sports three luxury rooftop gardens, each with it's own take on outdoor living.
2nd story: Off of the main living room and kitchen, is an outdoor living room with a shade canopy supported by a pergola, which creates the "room" feel. Potted evergreen trees screen the tall wall of the adjacent building, adding softness to the space. An Ivy panel screens the neighboring views of adjacent decks.
4th Story: To create an inviting and comfortable space on this small porch, ceder boxes were built to hold plant material and second as seating. The soft tub spa is easy to access from all sides with the wrap around deck. Cedar is such a warm colored wood, and provides a more natural look on top of the original concrete deck.
5th Story: The largest of the three rooftops is on the very top floor, full of lush plantings and a variety of seating. Here you find an outdoor kitchen, a louvered privacy screen, corten-steel planters, and a greenhouse built of cedar. The plantings are lush, providing seasonal interest as well as separation between neighboring deck.

This Chicago rooftop deck is alive with greenery. Cedar privacy screens block neighbors from seeing into space. And the raised cedar planters house lush beds of perennials, hiding the exhaust pipes from below, as well as the site of other rooftops.
