Entryway features bright white walls, walnut floors, wood plank wall feature, and a patterned blue rug from Room & Board. Mid-century style console is the Doppio B table from Organic Modernism. The transom window and semi-translucent front door provide the foyer with plenty of natural light.

Jennifer A. Emmer/Feng Shui Style
We painted the exterior of this home in Saratoga, CA. It was built in 1947 and had a traditional feel to it. We went with a cheery yellow (Glidden "Jonquil").
We painted the front door Benjamin Moore "Heritage Red", and the trim Behr "Divine Pleasure". We also used Benjamin Moore "Chrome Green" to outline the windows. The colors we chose pumped up the Feng Shui for the clients. The home faced South (Fire/Fame), so painting the front door red pumped up the reputation of the owners. See the photos for more information.

The exterior of this home is a modern composition of intersecting masses and planes, all cleanly proportioned. The natural wood overhang and front door stand out from the monochromatic taupe/bronze color scheme. http://www.kipnisarch.com

Everyone loves a red front door! A covered entry porch shelters visitors from the elements and provides some visual interest. Stair treads, porch floor, and ship-lap ceiling (not shown) are stained cedar.

A newly connected hallway leading to the master suite had the added benefit of a new laundry closet squeezed in; the original home had a cramped closet in the kitchen downstairs. The space was made efficient with a countertop for folding, a hanging drying rack and cabinet for storage. All is concealed by a traditional barn door, and lit by a new expansive window opposite.
