Redfern Living Room

Contemporary Living Room, Sydney

This inner city pad in Sydney needed a living room pick-me-up. It was a new building so their home really made for a great blank canvas but they hadn’t yet had the time to put it all together and really make the most of their new surrounds. My clients liked this brand new apartment for its location and its black detailing which features throughout – including window frames and full height doors. They wanted to keep their dark grey sofa, but the existing cushions in warm coppers and neutral tones just weren’t cutting it. Taking inspiration from Pantone’s colours of the year for 2016, Rose Quartz and Serenity, we sourced new cushions and accessories that gave the space the lift it needed. Soft pinks and blues contrast well against the grey of the sofa and a variety of textures provide added interest and comfort. A lacquered grey and oak side table with rose gold and concrete accessories provide the finishing touches that were perfectly suited to this urban home. Scott Keenan - @travellingman_au
