Space was very tight in this room so I designed a set of hanging wall and bedside units to go either side of the bed that would give the client a bedside unit plus storage above. The bed is from the Storage Bed company and once again gives more room to tuck things away. A matching double unit and wooden campaign chest of drawers across the room add more hanging/folding space and give texture and warmth. The grey tartan wallpaper gives a bit more texture whilst alss lending a soft texture to highlight the bed as the focal point of the room. Photography: Adam Chandler

In the bedroom, we focused on creating a tranquil oasis that embodies the essence of Scandinavian design. The room features a soft, neutral colour palette with muted tones of white, grey, and pale wood, promoting a peaceful atmosphere. A low-profile, upholstered bed serves as the focal point, adorned with linen bedding in natural fabrics. Minimalist nightstands in light oak complement the overall aesthetic, while stylish yet functional lighting, including sleek stone lamps, adds warmth without overwhelming the space. We incorporated carefully selected textiles, such as a chunky knit throw and soft cushions, to enhance comfort. Large windows invite ample natural light, further emphasising the airy feel, while sheer curtains provide privacy without sacrificing brightness. Thoughtful storage solutions, such as built-in wardrobes, maintain a clutter-free environment, reflecting the Scandinavian principle of simplicity and functionality. Overall, the bedroom is a perfect blend of style and serenity, ideal for relaxation in the heart of London City Island.

This bespoke plywood cabinetry includes a wall bed that drops down transforming the studio into a guest space and revealing a slatted wood wall feature with hidden wall lights. Rust and light blues linens finish off this space, adding texture in keeping with the organic feel of the space.
