This stunning glass enclosed modern custom wine cellar was designed and installed by Vintage Cellars earlier this year. The Contemporary Custom Wine Room was fitted into an existing fireplace space, turning the visually unappealing sore thumb of the room into a magnificent show stopping centerpiece. This modern luxury condo on the 31st floor in a downtown San Diego high-rise acted as a very interesting project for the custom wine cellar design team at Vintage Cellars. The modern wine room space has dual paned, insulated glass but because of the nature of glass itself, the cooling unit was recommended to be oversized. The custom wine room space itself didn't have great options for venting the cooling unit due to the location on the 31st floor. The best option to vent was determined to treat the wine room as a wine cabinet, per se. The Cooling Unit, a CellarPro 1800 XTS, was placed in the ceiling, venting down cool air and circulating vented air back upward. The result works perfectly for a uniquely modern and contemporary space such as this. This fully enclosed, glass front custom wine cellar boasts a 300 bottle capacity with a sleek, modern, label forward feel that ULTRA Wine Peg racking is known for. The center section is a double stacked full reveal display row, showcasing some of the homeowner's finer wines. Though no particular space was made within the wine racking area, the design of this modern custom wine cellar was pushed back a couple of feet so that wine case storage could be an option between the glass front and the custom racking. Additionally, the clean feel goes even further upon looking for the entrance into this wine cellar. The flat panel on the furthest left side opens slowly and almost magically when pushed in slightly. A great, modern touch! A gorgeous, modern condo such as this is just begging to have a custom wine cellar. This space, with big help from this contemporary wine room, screams luxury upon entering. Located directly off of the dining room, this modern wine cellar blends style and utility, incorporating features such as triple deep wine racking with glass, stone, wood, and stainless steel. Design Build team at Vintage Cellars was also commissioned to create a unique and stylish wooden backing, to ensure that the metal wine pegs really popped. Custom walnut stain was placed on Alder wood paneling, custom fit with metal wine rack pegs from floor to ceiling. We worked directly with Noe Design Co to create a one of a kind entrance into this cellar. The highest quality stainless steel framing and double pane thermally insulated glass were placed on the front wall to not only maintain a beautiful look, but to also ensure that this wine room kept a perfect 55 degree temperature with constant relative humidity. This gloss lacquer ultra-modern walk-in wine room design is a retrofit concept addition to a client’s games room. All the design hues follow-through from the games room space, to create the appearance, it was part of the original design and build. Originally it started out as a four-door Bespoke wine display design project, on the initial site survey, we established the cavity in place had the potential to push further back into the loft eves. This, therefore, allowed the creation of a deeper space that enables a design as a walk-in wine room option.

This photo depicts the completed California wine cellar under the stairs. The client's 200 bottles are already stored in a climate-controlled Le Cache wine cabinet. This wine cellar was designed for displaying bottles that are ready for consumption. This idea saved the client thousands of dollars. Chamber Furniture created the entire Wine Room space including the glazed walnut doors to ensure the wine collection is not only stored at the optimum temperature but presented beautifully. The clear-lacquered walnut complements the bronze wine racks and the angled shelves display the magnums and champagne for maximum impact.

Our client had an alcove in her family room which she wanted converted into a properly cooled wine cellar. We had to tear the room down to studs, add vapor barrier and insulation and run line sets for refrigeration prior to painting and installation of all lighting and racking for a beautiful addition to their home.
