“What can we say? Darryl and the Cobb Architects team designed our dream home. Now that it is complete, we get compliments about how awesome and beautiful it is from family/friends and people just walking by. Our first meeting, Darryl just listened...to our needs, our lifestyle and our aspirations for the home. Based on his approach, we were 90% there on the 1st design. Darryl took into consideration our words and added architectural design, how it would fit into the locale, and made it one of a kind. Along the way, we encountered a few necessary changes in the field, and Darryl made suggestions, collaborated directly with our project manager and designer, and in the end stayed within our budget and improved the overall design. We would recommend Cobb Architects without exception - you truly won't be disappointed.”

“Roger and his team worked closely with my husband and me to create the home of our dreams. I had a vision for many years and they listened carefuly, made realistic and valuable suggestions, and drew my dream better than I could have dreamed it. The design for our lake waterfront lot was a happy blend of my desire for sleek, modern with the HOAs idea of contemporary. We fit in nicely with the neighborhood, but have sleek linear shapes and smooth textures. We were building on a very difficult lake front lot with extremely steep terrain and natural gulleys that held standing water. Roger and his team worked with engineers to make sure we lived "on the water, not in the water", creating a design that allowed the graders to push the natural running water around the house and down the hill rather than into the house. This gave us the wonderful opportunity to have access bridges rather than sidewalks - a unique and very eye pleasing addition. Throughout the design they kept true to my vision while helping us add the features necessary to age in place. It is a beautiful design and we will live here forever. Roger Layman Architecture made the experience enjoyable and low stress. We would recommend this team to anyone who wants to build heir dream home.”

“Liz did an incredible job designing our house. We had general concepts of what we wanted our house to look like - Liz took our concepts and designed exactly what we wanted. This was our first time designing a house and Liz was flexible and helpful with ideas. She was easy to work with, got everything done timely and got the plans approved. We highly recommend Liz and would use her again.”

“Skip and Matt designed our new home, which is nearing completion. We are new to this, having never built before. We wanted to select both an architect and a builder who could bring our ideas to life, while at the same time adding their own creative vision and expertise. Skip and Matt exceeded our expectations. Easy to say, but what I mean specifically is: - They are truly collaborative. We provided dozens of pictures, ideas, materials, must-haves, must-not-haves...you name it. The very first set of drawings that came from this collaboration was so close to the vision we had, even though we couldn't articulate it at the time. - They are incredibly hard -working. They take pride in what they do, and will keep working at even the smallest detail until we are all satisfied. - They really listen, and this is reflected in the questions they ask and the ideas they delivered. - They worked very well with our builder. This is so important, and we feel we have a home that reflects two sets of great expertise...Island's and our builders.”

“We hired Steve Herlong and his staff to design our first custom home 12 years ago and to renovate our 1950's beach house 6 years ago. In both cases it was a fantastic experience. Steve has such an amazing eye for details, he HEARS what you want and creates a masterpiece with those ideas. His interiors team made our old beach house feel NEW again, but selected colors, cabinetry and fixtures to compliment the style we loved! We could not have created either of these amazing homes without the help of such a talented staff!”
