They are very responsive to my client input, yet always improve on those ideas through their experience on other projects. I think Artisans provides great value engineering and creativity. “Summit took over design of a Utah ski house. We are building long distance as we live in New York. We fired and sued our first architect DiamondPhillips so we were shell shocked. Principal Bruce Taylor won our confidence and produced a great design reflecting our needs and respectful of our budget. WE are building now. Plans are clear, suitable for permitting and construction. Designs were delivered on time. When issues arise as they always do, we all resolve them with a minimum of fuss. Bruce has great design sense and a sense of humor which helps in a complex process. He really listens. He works well with our contractor, available for consults as necessary. Billing is clear and understandable. Summit did a great job for us.”

“Doug is a genius! He is a very rare combination of an artist and an engineer. I came to Doug with a very special lot to build a Mountain Transitional home that was 20 years in the "dreaming". Carefully and open mindedly he inquired "behind" the dream to know my story and the stories behind my ideas. After spending extended time on the lot getting a sense of the views, terrain and changing daylight, he provided his first sketch and I was floored. His first draft seamlessly overcame difficult terrain to create a house that "belonged" there. I enjoyed working with him and his partnership in creating this very special home. His final work was magnificent full of interesting moments and transitions that add tremendously to joy of simply living there everyday.”
