“We are writing to wholeheartedly recommend Timothy (Tim) Strosser of Studio 810 Design as a designer and general contractor for home improvement. In 2012, we met Tim at the Philadelphia Home Show, and were impressed by Tim’s portfolio of previous designs and building projects. On his first visit to our home in the Philadelphia suburbs Tim impressed us again with his instant understanding of our home improvement needs. We wanted to build a new bathroom in a little-used space that was attached to our master bedroom, but Tim suggested a much better solution; building an addition to the house’s second floor, and placing the bathroom in it. This way we got a fabulously looking new master bathroom that is an envy of our friends and neighbors, and avoided a mistake of building a bathroom that would be to small and not convenient. Timothy also designed and built for us a mudroom in front of our house, completely redesigned and rebuilt our patio, and changed the siding all around the house. We are very satisfied with the quality of his design and workmanship of his crew. Tim is a very experienced project manager, and he worked hard to accommodate our specific requirements during the project and to adjust all the logistics accordingly. He was able to keep the project deadlines despite very unfavorable weather conditions, the climax of which was Hurricane Sandy. During the project we occasionally changed our mind regarding some details (e.g., selection of tiles), and Tim was always ready to either accept our new ideas or, when they were not practical, offer very good alternatives. During the project we developed a trusting, friendly relationship with Timothy and many of his crew members. We were so satisfied with our collaboration with Tim that, after the first big project was completed, we tasked him with a couple of smaller projects in our house (e.g., staircase renovation), and outside (landscaping). We are sure that, with his great artistic taste, his extensive technical experience, and his understanding of individual clients’ characters and preferences, Timothy can exceed expectations of the most demanding clients. We already recommended the services of Studio 810 to our neighbors, and we recommend them to you.”

“My husband and I had debated for several months if we should move to a larger space, or renovate our current home for our expanding family. I had brought this up with Rick Byrd, the owner of Byrd Design and Build (BDB), and he immediately came to our house to talk with us through all of our options. He walked through our house and really gave us some amazing plans to make the space we already had more usable and more modern and up to date. This was the perfect option for us, considering we were expecting our first child. He laid out all of the different renovation plans we could have and really helped us envision a space catered to our wants and needs. My husband works from home, so we thought it was going to be a difficult journey to do an almost complete gut job of our basement and first floor kitchen/bedroom/bath, but BDB did an amazing job accommodating him and being cautious of the space we weren’t renovating. During the construction process, all of the subcontractors of BDB were extremely nice, non-invasive and very courteous of everything in the house. Darren, the project manager, was always attentive and mindful of our timeline, which was shortened due to the arrival of our new baby. We have the perfect new nursery, brand new kitchen and bathroom, and an entirely finished basement all just in time for our son. Everything was completed in a timely fashion and in pristine condition. We are obsessed with our basically “new” house!”

“My husband an I built a new waterfront home in Elkton Maryland using Avalon Associates. It was a wonderful and exciting experience. Right from the start we knew that JR was the right builder for us. While looking at samples of his work every homeowner was singing his praises. It speaks volumes when a homeowner is still happy with the builder by the end of the project. Thankfully we can give the same resounding accolades. He was professional and knowledgable with a great group of employees and subs to execute each step of the process. While the project took longer than anticipated we did add a lot of extra details as we went along. JR was always willing to listen to our concerns and do whatever was necessary to accommodate our every wish!”

“Our third major project carried out by Bellweather turned out as well as we could have ever hoped. It involved the removal of walls to open out the ground floor, moving the back wall of the house further back to add square footage to the ground floor, the design and installation of a new kitchen and renovations to what had been the dining room. The project included significant electrical and plumbing work, design work by an architect and coordination with the City to obtain permits and get the work approved.”

The project lasted for 18 months and was very detail oriented with some unexpected problems along the way (including discovering our foundation needed to be built over an active spring and running into some complicated drainage work for the property). “In November of 2016, our home burned down. The insurance company gave us one year to find a builder, make plans, get all permits, knock down what was left of our old home and build a new home. Our home is well built, beautiful and made of nothing but quality products. Additionally the workmanship which went into building this home is evident throughout; from the beautiful floors, custom trim, to a well-planned layout, it is a gorgeous custom home.
