Recommended to us by a friend, they offered exactly what we had been looking for - a full-service contractor that can provide initial design support, project management and full building services, and at a reasonable cost. My partner and I are self-employed, and we're very busy people. Our time is valuable to us, and so when we renovated our kitchen we needed a contractor that would listen to what we wanted, assist us with the design, ironing out the practicalities and problem solving, and then take care of everything from start to finish. Lawrence Services provided all of this and more. Our Project Manager, Blaine Lawrence, was superb. Always quick to respond to emails, texts and calls, he is incredibly switched on, offering 3D visualisations of proposed works and contributing great ideas and innovative solutions to problems throughout the entire project. Having a project manager who has worked his way up through the trade is invaluable - he could do most of the work himself which gives him great insight in managing his team of tradesmen. I would sometimes finish work late, and fire off a few questions to Blaine via email before going to bed, expecting a reply in the morning - to my surprise he'd often reply within minutes, and was always on hand to keep us informed. Our kitchen design was a little unconventional, involving a lot of custom built elements. Lawrence Services not only took on board exactly what we wanted, but regularly contributed ideas that fit perfectly with our minimalist industrial design. What impressed us most was the attention to detail - they spotted and improved so many elements that we wouldn't have even noticed, all in the interest of doing the job properly. They covered everything, from demolishing an old lean-to conservatory and replacing it with a bespoke double glazed system, to replacing the floor, rewiring the electrics, plumbing, tiling, plastering, modernising the 80 year old drainage system for the whole house, heavily customising and fitting an Ikea kitchen to suit our design, built custom shelving and furniture, built rustic wood panelling for one of the walls, built a custom lighting rig for the conservatory... there's too much to mention. We later hired Lawrence Services to modernise our bathroom, replacing our boiler in the process. Again, they excelled in realising our modern, bespoke design. They suggested a clever move of the boiler that allowed us to add a shower cubicle to the room - something we wouldn't have thought possible given the limited space. The design was such that the room somehow ended up looking bigger than before! The security of knowing that we could leave them to it, taking care of everything and keeping us well informed, was absolutely invaluable. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Lawrence Services, both for smaller jobs such as built-in wardrobes, all the way up to a complete house build from start to finish.”
