“I hired JML Design to design a backyard cottage. This had been a dream of mine for some time and I met Jean-Marc LeRoy in passing and when I learned he was an architect, I mentioned my vision to have a back yard cottage built, but was in no hurry to start. What I really appreciated was that a few months later, he circled around to check in to see what my progress was and if I was still interested in having this done. As a busy business owner with 100's of things jockeying for my attention, I really needed this follow up. After checking out his website that showed some of his previous projects, I saw that his aesthetic was what I was looking for. We met for a consultation, a site preview and then a proposal was presented. This was my first time working with an architect, but I found his breakdown to be thorough and very reasonable. Another thing that I really appreciated about Jean-Marc is his ability to listen. He was able to take my ideas and turn it into something more than I imagined, adding things that represented my style and ideas. “My husband and I hired Chelsea to design the interior spaces and recommend furnishings for the entire interior of our new home. The home is a different style and feel than we had ever lived in before. We have two college-aged kids, and we wanted a grown-up space that was warm and inviting for our guests, but still felt like home to our two kids during their regular visits. Chelsea nailed it in every way. There were many things we enjoyed about working with her, but the top five are: 1. She listened to us, took our feedback and incorporated it into her recommendations without any ego or preconceived ideas of what she wanted. 2. She was organized, prompt, efficient, effective and communicative - for months, we emailed on multiple topics each day. She was NEVER an obstacle - she kept us on our target completion date and kept the project moving. Our project lasted about six months. 3. She established a comprehensive budget at the outset, which we ultimately exceeded just slightly, BUT we did so knowingly and she called out the choices we made as those that were "investments" vs. "good values." We have a combination of both in our new space. 4. She created space for each of our college kids that they LOVE. This was so important to us - they have new and sophisticated grown-up spaces with touches of important mementos from their childhoods thrown in. 5. We are SO COMFORTABLE here. Chelsea always emphasized our new home is a living, functional space first and not a shrine. Her knowledge about products, finishes, fabrics, and combinations of all of those is so comprehensive. She recommended a lovely combination of objects and the result is an amazing space in which we enjoy spending time with our friends and family. I would hire Chelsea again without hesitation and have already recommended her to several close friends. I think anyone that can hire her is lucky to have her!”

“Jeff Sellentin, the owner and architect, worked with us from the initial stages of developing what we wanted to do and how much we wanted to spend to coming up with a final plan that took both into account, and finally, construction. The goal was to add living space, an extra bedroom/office and revamp our entry. Prior to the addition (left side of the outdoor photo), our house looked like it stopped abruptly. With the addition it looks much better and we love the front porch. Our was a relatively small addition of 500sf that enabled us to create a completely open space on the main floor of our late 70s tri-level home (entry, dining, kitchen and living area). We wanted to work with someone who was flexible enough to allow us to do some of the work ourselves in order to cut down on the cost and Jeff was very accommodating. We hired Jeff to go from design through finished drywall and have been working on the rest ourselves (please note that the kitchen, which is not pictured, is still unfinished but that's on our to do list, not Jeff's!). We're very pleased with the results and have had lots of compliments from friends and family about how comfortable it feels. Like most construction projects, it took longer than expected, and cost a little more than expected, but it is well built and we expect to enjoy our new space for many years to come.”
