Our project went quite smoothly, staying on schedule thanks to the fact that my office is in the house and Scott's commitment to providing a foreman. This enabled us to make decisions quickly and address problems promptly. Scott and his crew showed a lot of creativity in meeting our requirement to stay in the house during the renovation, to the extent of setting up a temporary kitchen and shower in the basement. In the end, we only had to be out of the house for about a week. He was also very good about coordinating with our architect and the cabinetmaker that we selected ourselves. Having heard a few horror stories of renovation cost overruns, I think we also did well in this respect. Our final figure was about 10% more than the initial estimate due to the kind of unforeseen issues that can be expected on any such project, along with a few changes that we ordered. The level of detail Scott provides in his constantly updated spreadsheet also helped us to make some decisions that reduced our cost.”

“We chose Sunspace Design over other companies because we wanted a custom sunroom- not a one-size-fits-all outfit that assembles pre-made components. They carefully listened to our wishes, and designed just what we asked for! They custom-build an 18' x 14' Glass Conservatory attached to our home. They also made helpful suggestions to give us a unique room, complete with varnished mahogany ceiling beams and an all-glass roof. Their workmen are professionals with many years of experience- not easy to find these days when anybody with a hammer can call themselves a carpenter. They strategically used cedar in places to assure no rotting wood in the decades to come. When we asked for changes along the way, they had the experience to know how to accomplish it. “Matt was recommended to us by a friend for a bathroom remodel that we were looking into. We had a small outdated shower that was built with the house, and wanted to replace it with a tiled shower that gave us more room and improved the look of our smallish master bathroom. We had 3 companies come out and give us estimates. Matt made us feel the most at ease and was very receptive to our budget, allowing us to make decisions based on how much the individual items would cost, and how esthetically pleasing they were. He completed the project quite fast and asked our opinion at every step. The only delay was the glass shower door - but Matt switched suppliers after the original supplier gave him too long of a lead time. He listened well and showed up on time. I wish I had before photos but they weren't worth looking at anyway! The bathroom is too small to get a wide angle of the shower but I included some details. He worked with local companies and we had the opportunity to go in and select our fixtures, tile choices, and granite pieces. We learned a lot in the process and love our new shower (especially including the pebble floor - that was a necessary for me!) He also just completed a basement remodel with wall knockout, and we brought him on to do our french doors in the living room!”

“THE PROJECT: My husband and I bought a two-family home as an investment property with the goal of living on the top floor; however, the unit we wanted to live in had a very closed-in feel and was out-dated. We knew we needed to hire a professional to help us open up our unit and modernize the look and feel... so that's when we called Lorenzo from LC Construction. With his help, we got a beautiful new kitchen, living room, office, bathroom, bedroom, and an amazing walk-in closet. He successfully transformed a 950 square foot unit and made it feel like it was twice the size. SOLID EXPERIENCE AND GREAT PLANNER: Lorenzo was great at listening to our needs and helped us narrow down ideas. It can be very overwhelming when you are changing 80% of your space, but his upbeat personality and excellent communication skills put us at ease. You can tell he has a passion for good design and flow. He really took the time to help us strategically plan the room according to our lifestyle and taste. He was also good about making the most of our budget by recycling/repurposing materials i.e., re-painting existing cabinets instead of buying new ones and repurposing old hardwood floors for a new room. Small things like that really demonstrated his knowledge and experience. GREAT CRAFTSMANSHIP: Now with the project done, we get so many compliments on the quality of work. It seriously looks like you’re stepping into a magazine! Even an untrained eye can tell that everything was done with the utmost care. His crew was always there on time, very polite, and kept the job site very orderly. We appreciated the time Lorenzo took to walk us through the job site and propose new ideas that were not necessarily on the project plan such as frosting the windows of a sliding door and creating drawers/shelves in the wall to make the most of our space. ON TIME & ON BUDGET: I've heard many horror stories from people who hired contractors where projects got prolonged or went way over budget. We never got surprise invoices with numbers we didn't agree on and he got our project done on the day we needed to move in. FINAL REMARKS: What you're really getting with LC Construction is an amazing end product AND a great experience. Lorenzo’s enthusiasm, charm and expertise made the whole process fun and motivating throughout. He’s worth every penny and we’re looking forward to working with him again on another project.”
