“I hired Chris from CG Design to design my studio in the colourful inner Sydney suburb of Newtown. I wanted a design that encapsulated the eclectic and original style of Newtown, at an affordable price point. I had viewed Chris's work when I lived in Brisbane, and some friends who worked in the design industry highly recommended him due to his experience in unique residential projects. Newtown is such an amazing place to live with colourful characters and never-ending entertainment and I needed a home that reflected this lifestyle. My home is a small and functional studio which required a keen sense of spatial awareness to incorporate defined living, eating and outdoor socializing spaces. Chris brought a mixture of soft and hard textures, creating depth with pops of colour through knitted woolen throws and geometric patterned pillowcases. My kitchen includes a raw hardwood mobile island with adjustable stools, which I can couple with my outdoor furniture on my compact balcony. Another hard wood multi-purpose chest has been used to provide me with more storage and seating, and to soften my balcony. Overall, Chris has done an amazing job to fulfill my brief and give me the home that matches so well to my surrounds.”

“When we recently decided to put our house on the market, despite being a reasonably new property and owning some great existing furniture pieces, we knew it would need a little bit of professional help to really be 'sale ready' and presented in the best way possible to help achieve our sale price goal. Alana met with us after hours, walking through the home and advising of what she recommended we could use of our existing items, and what she would replace. Within 24 hours we received an email with floor plans including layout of items, and a quote for 6 week hire of all the recommended pieces, listed room by room. When selecting a colour palette for the accessory items, she even took into consideration our pink front door, pink feature chair, and that we had some favourite wall art in green tones, and lots of indoor plants that we would like to keep on display. We also had some beautiful high quality bed linen and towels of our own that we hoped to use, and everything Alana selected worked perfectly with these items so as we didn't have to replace EVERYTHING! Alana has a close working relationship with one of Brisbane's premium furniture and decorating hire businesses, so has access to furniture and homewares that is fashionable, on trend, stylish, sophisticated; and also well looked after. Everything looks like new! On the day Alana and the hire team arrived early, with the hire delivery guys bringing in all the furniture, unwrapping and assembling, and also the tubs of decorative accessories which had been pre-packed to go into each of the respective rooms – Alana even had them move large pieces that were going to go into storage into our garage to be out of the way on the day of the photography. Once they left Alana was still on site working her magic with dressing beds, fluffing cushions, and displaying all of the homewares items - even arranging the perfect page to be open in a coffee table book, so as to match the decor in the room. She had an art hanger arrive who in less than 30 minutes had hung a large mirror and 7 art pieces; and from time of the first van arriving that morning, to Alana leaving, in 5 hours our 3 bedroom/split level townhouse had been transformed. We even joked that we didn't want to sell anymore!! The next day when photographs were taken, both the agent (who is very well regarded in our area) and photographer were blown away by how great the property looked. We go to market in 2 weeks and have no doubt that Alana's vision for how to present the home will add to our expected sell price! Alana is extremely talented at what she does, but also is extremely efficient and organised, with all the best connections. We would recommend her to anyone looking for home styling services.”
