“My husband and I finally bought our "Dream House". Built in 1922 it had everything we were looking for but my main requirement was that it was "old". I had visions of restoring it to its glory days! I had carried around a file titled "Old House" for years with pictures of ideas and furniture that I knew I wanted to incorporate into our house. We were only going to redo one bathroom, well maybe two. But as we admired our beautiful old girl, we knew she was worthy of an entire renovation. We had a few rules: update but respect the period in which she was built. And we had to keep the original floors and windows! I needed a decorator/designer who could incorporate my ideas and dreams, in a very tight timeframe, without it losing our ideas and influence. And it is, no doubt, the prettiest house in Saint Louis/Clayton area. After all, we have couples who leave their picture, name and number several times a month with a letter that says, "if you ever think of selling your house, please call us." She designed all of the bedroom furniture and bathroom cabinets as well. It is beautiful, comfortable and very clean and contemporary.
