“Sophia came in full of energy and ready to help us with our room expansion project. We thought we just needed her for finishing selections. However she immediately asked the right questions and completely changed our lighting plan. This certainly will transform the entire room. Moving into finishes, Sophia took our preferences and selected a simply wonderful color scheme. She also helped devise a plan to utilize an existing rug by adding a border, saving thousands of dollars over buying a new one. While Sophia certainly can help you select top of the line, she also has the philosophy of using what you have and working it into the design. “My husband and I worked with Davis Home Pro on an extensive remodel of our 2,000 sq/ft home in Orinda. We took everything down to the studs and DHP did all new electrical, plumbing, dry wall, flooring, etc. Everyone we talked to cautioned us that our project would likely go way over budget and way over schedule. To our delight, this was not the case. DHP worked within our budget and provided alternatives when we need to cut costs. They were extremely up front with us from the get go and we knew exactly how much we were spending and when we went over budget it was our choice - not because we were forced into it or misled. Perhaps more importantly (we were expecting our first baby in the middle of this project), they were ON TIME. These two factors make them 5 stars in my opinion. I would say the quality of their work is very high. We have experienced some minor issues, like doors scraping floors or counters needing additional caulking. But DHP was quick to resolve during our 1-year warranty agreement. In addition to all this, Jason, Richard, Pete and team were a pleasure to work with. Extremely pro active and really nice people. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for jobs big and small.”

“Hiring Wayne Christian to do our kitchen remodel was the absolute best decision we made in the entire project. We had to bury a 17 foot steel I-beam in the ceiling to hold up the 2nd story of our house in order to remove a wall that opened up our space. There were many obstacles in doing this, including routing of electrical, plumbing vents, and venting of our exhaust hood to the outside. Wayne always had a solution and discussed options with us. Despite the additional time involved to do some of this, he was extremely fair with change orders and we never felt "nickeled and dimed." He worked very well with other parties including the kitchen designer, the cabinet installer, and the granite fabricator/installer so that led to a minimum of problems during the job. He works alone (although sometimes with his son Andrew in the summer) so if you are looking for the fastest job, look elsewhere. But he was diligent in keeping our job moving forward with very few days that he had to go to another client/project. Wayne is a terrific person, very creative, very meticulous, and always conscious of minimizing the disruption on us. We feel he has become a friend, plus someone we would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. All-in-all, it was the best experience we've ever had with a remodeling contractor. Highly recommended! “Johanne is fabulous! She provided me with a full color consult both in my office and home. I am so happy with the colors she suggested, and never would have been able to make choices this perfect on my own. Johanne was prepared and patient when working with my husband and I, and took the time to give us suggestions to improve our home. We also hired her to sew together custom drapes for our bedroom. After searching high and low for curtains for our bedroom, Johanne suggested we purchase fabric and she make what we need. The project was much less expensive than we had anticipated, and the results were even more beautiful than we had expected. I never thought working with a designer was in my budget, but Johanne proved me wrong. Her prices are reasonable and very worth the cost of her expertise. My work space and home are absolutely perfect thanks to Project Guru!”

“I have a house from 1966 that never had any work done and needed ana drastic update. I was looking for a new contractor to renovate a completely demolished master bedroom and master bedroom that started two years before I met Shawn. I did not want to work with the contractor who had done the demolition. Shawn was recommended by my cousin who works at the permit department; she said that his permits were always thorough and complete and rarely required revision. Working with Shawn was wonderful! Prior to signing the contract, I worked extensively with him to define and understand the full breadth of the work in detail so that there would be very few surprises if at all. I had worked with at least 7 contractors through this process and Shawn was the most detailed, transparent, and easy to work with. We stayed at home during this renovation. He managed the subcontractors well and the job site was always clean at the end of the day. He also worked at least 75% of the project. He took care of the permits and all the inspections. He was very easy to work with. He provided good ideas on how to improve the design where necessary. He always let me know ahead of time when he couldn't be a the project. His work quality is excellent. He was so wonderful to work with that I hired him again to renovate the other hallway bathroom, three bedrooms, and the hallway.”

“We hired Toupin Construction to remove our master bathroom bathtub and install a stall shower and a stackable washer/dryer in its place. We had two additional quotes from other contractors and we felt Toupin Construction's quote was comparable in price but offered more in terms of aesthetics and prior experience with this type of remodel. From the beginning of the project to the final touches, the Toupin crew were wonderful. They were on time. They were respectful of our home and always cleaned up before they left for the day. If we had any concerns, they addressed them immediately. Each evening, we received a phone call from their office outlining what would happen the next day. Owner Tim Toupin stopped in almost every day to monitor the project's progress. These personal touches really meant a lot to us and made the project stay on schedule and run smoothly. We are very happy with the finished project. Our bathroom looks beautiful! We love the shower, the new floor, the new paint colors, and the wonderful washer/dryer alcove.
