John French Landscape Design

Russell White and his team designed and constructed both my front and back garden. He took my ideas, cut out pictures and rough scribblings in my dream journal into a beautiful French Provincial Secret Garden. It was an absolute delight to work with this team as well as all the other trades organised by them. Not only were all involved very professional but just lovely people. Thank you for always being open to my questions, suggestions and wonderings. You have certainly brought my dreams into reality.

John French Landscaping took our bare, waterlogged, steep backyard and transformed it into a functional relaxing haven. During our initial consultation, Russell listened to our wishes and incorporated everything we requested into his outstanding design. Work on our property began around the time of the first COVID-19 outbreak (April 2020). As new rules and restrictions came into effect, the team at JFL complied with all government directives and maintained a safe working environment for themselves and our family throughout lockdown. We are very grateful for their ability to endure certain inconveniences (such as off-site bathroom breaks and huddling undercover outside during rainstorms) without complaint, as we all understood the importance of not breaking quarantine by having workers enter our house. Open lines of communication were welcomed and encouraged throughout the renovation. We received daily briefings and Denny ensured that all of our questions and concerns were addressed. Our property was always made safe, tidy and secure for our children and pets at the end of each day. The JFL team are the most professional, considerate tradesmen we’ve employed and their customer service is second to none.

I have nothing but high praise for John French landscaping, from the first consultation, drawing up of plans to the final delivery of the project. From the moment we had the first meeting through to the completed job, we were impressed with the professionalism, creativity and standard of work. Thanks to Russell, Denny, and the team, Corey, Ed, Jordan, Ezra and Baxter, we finally have a backyard that is stunning and meets our every need. Between them they managed to somehow transform a steep, neglected, unloved back yard into our own paradise, where we can relax, play with the dog, and enjoy nature in a tranquil setting. From the start, Russell was able to conceptualize a functional plan which incorporated seamlessly into our existing landscaping. Denny and the boys then worked tirelessly and professionally to transform these ideas into reality. The attention to detail was amazing and nothing we asked was ever too much. It was such a pleasure to work with them all, on what was one of the biggest projects we have ever undertaken. We cannot speak too highly of John French Landscape Design led by Russell White. The team transformed our previously unusable and unsafe outside area into a beautiful and practical space which we can now enjoy at all times. The expertly laid Castlemaine slate paving and meticulously constructed merbau timber steps around the colorbond garden beds , were highlights. An added bonus was the successful transplanting of an old treasured grapevine and two Lilly pillys which continue to thrive. Russell's detailed and innovative plan was implemented on time thanks to all involved. A special thanks to the construction team of Denny , Ed , Corey and Ezra. We were fully involved throughout the project and were consulted before any changes to the plan were implemented.

The attention to detail and professionalism shown by John French Landscape Design exceeded all expectations. The vision created by Russell White to transform my seriously neglected, uninviting back garden, to a stunning, tranquil oasis of warmth and reflection was amazing. Denny and his co-workers were not only supportive in making Russell's plan a reality, but they were also willing to 'go the extra mile', completing unexpected details that only arose once landscaping began. I love every aspect of my new garden; my children particularly like the fire pit! The personable nature of everyone involved was fantastic, and I cannot recommend John White Landscaping highly enough. I am so pleased that I found such an inspirational group of professionals to make my dream garden a reality.

We asked John French Landscape Design if they could help us turn our very steep and difficult frontage into a garden with natural stone stairs leading up to the house. Russell White consulted with us and then drafted an excellent design. We were very excited about the plan before us. Russell's team of friendly, expert landscapers completed the job on schedule in time for Christmas. They arrived promptly every day and while we spent a little more than originally planned we are truly delighted with the result. The steep bank has been replaced with yellow mud-stone that has been artfully positioned to create a beautiful set of steps, a seating area and rock work that not only looks great but makes gardening so much easier. We are now very proud of our garden.

It was very refreshing to work with a team you can trust. After having various landscapers inspect my backyard, it was obvious that the john French team were miles ahead and genuinely care. Not only do they provide amazing service from beginning to end, they treat the job like it's their own home. The John French team work with you to create a design that suits your taste & personality. Having worked closely with Russell, we came up with a design for a backyard that was previously useless. Now it's the key feature of the home. Amazing attention to detail & a truly unforgettable experience. Russell is a passionate designer with a natural flair for connecting landscapes with both the personality of the client and their house with his designs. We've been gradually implementing our plan over the last couple of years and are thoroughly enjoying the transformation of our garden. We enjoy so much more of our garden now thanks to the special places that have been created within it. We regularly have people stop and chat when we're working in the front garden, complementing us on the changes we've made - changes that keep on improving as Russell is always happy to provide tips and advice along the way.
