“Tina was fabulous from start to finish. We had a long thin London Garden with no shape - but a beautiful Beech Tree in the middle - and she turned it into a journey of discovery. By creating different Seating Areas, Curved Walls, curved Flower beds and advice on Planting, our garden has become a pleasure to sit in all year and all day long. I have some planting knowledge myself but lack the ability to visualise the whole garden. We had great fun going through different options, planning areas and keeping existing plants in some areas and moving others. Tina listened to my thoughts and ideas, worked what was practical into the project and when the work finally started I felt very confident that the finished Garden would be perfect. We also had to fit in a Table Tennis Table. The finished Project was better than expected, I took my time researching Brick colours and Patio slabs and chatting to Tina about how they would enhance the plants around them. And it really worked. The garden was completed in August 2023 and I couldn't be happier. Just enjoying the bulbs popping their heads up now. Thanks Tina.”

“Butler Landscapes completed a landscape project (building a terraced area, pathways and driveways, two raised beds as well as a small amount of planting) in our suburban garden in the summer of 2016. We had plans for a garden design drawn up before meeting Sharon and Paul - but these needed modifying in order to keep the project within the budget. Paul was very helpful in suggesting the elements of re-design that would keep the price down to what we could afford, and having giving us a price he stuck to it for the entirety of the work - no hidden extras, no last minute requests for extra money. Compared to past experiences it was an absolute joy! I felt that both Sharon and Paul listened to what we wanted, and didn't try and persuade us to have a design or style that we were not comfortable with, but did suggest modifications that would improve on the the practicalities or look of the design - and we were very happy with these suggestions. The work itself was completed to a very high standard, the men working on the project worked hard and felt trustworthy, which was important to me as I was out at work for much of the time. The work did take longer to complete than initially anticipated, but this was largely due to the weather - which was not under Butler Landscapes' control. Paul ensured that all the loose ends were tied up before he asked for the final payment, coming back to the site a couple of times to ensure that all the last bits and pieces of work were finished. We are delighted with the end result and looking forward to enjoying it properly after the winter.”

“We hired the services of April House Garden in 2021 to design the landscape of our newly rebuilt cottage. Fast forward to the end of 2023 the garden looks incredibly beautiful which includes a diverse assortment of flowers, plants, and some trees. “Jane provided a complete garden design by post, based on our own measurements and new spaces planned, once a planned house extension is completed. The end deliverable was a surprise so we communicated almost entirely by email, and it was a complete success. Jane is extremely knowledgeable about garden design and was always prompt in responding to questions, queries and general email comms. I thoroughly enjoyed the process! I felt she understood our brief well and went the extra mile in creating a pintrest board of photo ideas to accompany the design, as well as sketched options and a scale plan of the final design. I loved her sketches so much I had to ask her for some colour versions of the final designs as they bring to life her ideas so well, visually. Jane has kept in touch since, and kindly offered her support and advice should any questions come up once we complete our extension and move on to the garden, over the coming months. After an initial meeting , Victoria produced some really interesting concept designs. Her extensive plant knowledge, ideas and enthusiasm have helped us create an all round garden. “We commissioned Paul to design two areas of garden close to our farmhouse - a small 'Mediterranean' garden in a sheltered walled area near the kitchen and a low maintenance garden to be viewed from the kitchen, living room and master bedroom, inspired in part by our time living in Japan. Paul gained the commission through being one of the two best of five after initial meetings and of the final two produced by far the best design output that made it easy to understand what we were going to get. Paul project managed the build, working with professional dry-stone waller, Andy Louden, and Landscaper, Chris Bromley to create a garden that has the wow factor and a smaller more intimate space that is great for a summer afternoon with a cup of tea or indeed something stronger. We have recommended Paul to other people who have seen his work, and would have no hesitation in commissioning him again were we to look to extend our designed garden area.”
