Her project drawings are extremely detailed, leaving no room for speculation by the landscape contractor she selects. She also is exceptionally good at balancing design and color of all hardscape elements like Roman stamped concrete, seatwall, raised garden, flower pots, lighting, etc. with shrub, trees and flower placements. Result for us was a well-balanced and aesthetically pleasing yard. She also is good at keeping the landscape contractor on schedule and ensuring all work meets her high quality standards. She even took the time to teach us yard care basics like pruning and proper watering. We are extremely glad we selected Bluestar to do our backyard makeover! Works to understand priorities and needs; listens to suggestions. My property is about one acre. Executive Care has done reasonably extensive re-landscaping to four areas. Chris is a true professional from the design through construction phases. During design, he was very thoughtful about how the yard design (from layout to materials) would relate to our mid-century modern house. He was conscious of our budget and made decisions to use quality materials and craftsmen where it counted. He took the time to show us extensive samples - either in person or via photos- of all of his design ideas, including landscape plants and materials. Chris is happy to offer suggestions when asked, and to incorporate clients' ideas into his designs. He is detail oriented and we were very comfortable with his oversight of the whole project. “With my front yard in desperate need of a new look I hired Mary to help in coordinating a new design. Mary met me at my home and spent a significant amount of time brainstorming ideas not only for a new landscape but helped incorporate new hardscape for the fireplace and sidewalks. After taking extensive measurements of my front yard, she came back with three different design concepts along with computerized pictures of what the finished design would look like. After my husband and I decided on a design, Mary helped us pick out the stone that was used for the hardscape. When the cement was getting poured, Mary was here to make sure all the work was done according to the plans. When it came time to picking out plants, she listened to what I had in mind as well as offered some other suggestions. When I had difficulty trying to find some of the plants at the nursery, she did not hesitate to make sure that the variety the nursery had was the right variety we needed for our plans. With the yard complete, I decided to paint the outside of the house. I had several colors in mind. Mary came by the house and offered her opinion on which color she felt complemented the stonework the best. Overseeing the cement work and picking out paint colors were not part of her job but Mary was so enthusiastic about the finished design, that she offered her time to make sure that the front of the house from landscape to paint colors was perfect. I would definitely work with Mary again. In fact we are in the process of putting together a design concept for our backyard. Mary is an amazing designer, flexible and very easy to work with.”
