“Chris Kolb is an exceptional landscape designer who is trustworthy and diligent. He has a strong background in horticulture and applies that knowledge in the design. Chris can install his designs or work with installation crews guiding their efforts. He can engage in detailed design discussions with clients who enjoy being involved in the details. As Chris is primarily a solo performer it works best if the client understands how and when other resources will be obtained on large projects.”

“We hired Melissa to draw up landscaping plans for a garage re-build project. We needed plans for the hardscaping of new stairs and walkways leading from the street and garage to our house, as well as a landscaping/ planting plan. Melissa took on a difficult project, as we are on a hill with complicated grading issues. She was totally up for the task! She developed a plan, beautiful drawings, a budget outline, and contractor bid documents all within a short time frame, as we were late to realize the scope of what we needed. She met with us and explained everything. She is a true professional and a very nice person to work with. She always responded promptly to any extra requests, like dealing with the city of Boston Public Works Department about a new-curb cut application. FYI, our project took about a year to get permit approval in Boston, which is ridiculous, but unfortunately not unusual. We now expect to start the demolition this August 2017, so that's why there are no images. I will upload some once the landscaping is done. I whole-heartedly recommend M. A. Desjardins Landscape Architecture! You are definitely getting your money's worth if you hire Melissa. I am updating my review posted June 2016. The project was finally completed this spring, 2018, after many delays (not due to Melissa, as she was not contracted to do project management). An important note to add was Melissa's level-head and commitment through it all. After the concrete pourers did not follow the driveway plans and missed the stone paving details that were required through the City's Planning office, Melissa suggested we hold off on sawcutting and removing those concrete sections, which may have compromised the remainder of the concrete, until the Building Inspection came to review it. In the end, we were not required to remove the concrete, which saved us time and money by not needing to install that stone paving detail. I am also finally posting some pictures!”

“Neil and Samantha did a phenomenal job designing and building our yard. Their ideas and workmanship created a space that created so much more than what we had in mind. We had a yard overhaul which consisted of rebuilt retaining wall, goshen stone steps and flagstone, deck, water feature, fire pit and sandbox. Highly recommended!”

“Hired Second Nature 13 years ago to design, plant, maintain, improve and expand a large flower garden and several perennial borders. Excellent job in all respects. They continue to enhance and maintain it all and do so with a hard working, dedicated, professional and very knowledgeable staff. Deadlines are always met and work ethic and quality is high. Labor costs are high but the end result is well worth it.”

“Nick and his team did a great job. They took a yard that had minimal landscaping and implemented a design scheme that works so beautifully with the surrounding area. The choice of plant material and its planting, the masonry work and follow-up plant care are details that they handled really well. I couldn't be more thrilled with the garden!”

“Bob Hoxie did an outstanding job of designing a landscape plan for my entire property, which I hope to complete over a couple of years. For first year, we concentrated on the frontside of my home. My home went from overgrown bushes covering my front porch to a beautiful garden with traditional Cape Cod hydrangeas and unique plants. What I love most is that there is always something in bloom throughout spring and summer. The garden greatly enhanced the curbside appeal too and my neighbors commented on what a difference the new garden has made. I'm looking forward to spring and new work on my backyard -- phase 2!”
