“So, about a year and a half ago I bought a small house built in 1939. Lots of charm, but the backyard, not so much. Small, nothing but a lawn, tiny little patio cover off the garage, and a big redwood at the corner. Oh, and my neighbors looked right over it from their second floor. I and my house guests would hide under the patio cover to get shade and privacy. It didn't seem like there was a way to fix all this, but Gary surveyed the yard, its problems and my neighborhood's style. “Owner Cathie Tritel is very knowledgeable of plant, flower and tree placement in relation to sunrise/sunset orientation of homeowner's yard. Her project drawings are extremely detailed, leaving no room for speculation by the landscape contractor she selects. She also is exceptionally good at balancing design and color of all hardscape elements like Roman stamped concrete, seatwall, raised garden, flower pots, lighting, etc. with shrub, trees and flower placements. Result for us was a well-balanced and aesthetically pleasing yard. She also is good at keeping the landscape contractor on schedule and ensuring all work meets her high quality standards. She even took the time to teach us yard care basics like pruning and proper watering. We are extremely glad we selected Bluestar to do our backyard makeover! Even though it's winter, flowers are blooming now!”

“Best service provider of all I have used, including, but not limited to landscape services. Executive Care builds a relationship with the customer, does not just do the job. Works to understand priorities and needs; listens to suggestions. My property is about one acre. Executive Care has done reasonably extensive re-landscaping to four areas. Total cost ~$70K over three years, 2016-2018. I now use them for annual maintenance. Highly recommend!”

“Colin and his firm Envision have now done two landscape design and build projects for us. It was an experience so different than other construction jobs we have endured. Colin communicated each step of the way, he was creative in taking our ideas and offering creative solutions, alternatives and even cost savings. He was always on schedule and employs a great crew with an eye for detail. The stack rock retaining wall is amazing how it all fits perfectly and actually saved us money versus and plain wood wall. I never knew that native plants could have so much color and visual interest for so much of the year. His design and construction project for a duplex we own was even more creative as he took one plain backyard shared by two tenants a turned it into two separate peaceful low maintenance yards using clump bamboo and natives.
