“We heard about Susan’s work from our son. He had hired her to do the landscaping for his front and back yards and was very pleased with her work. We met with Susan in October of 2011 and found her to be a wonderful, easy going and a comfortable person to be around so we moved forward with asking her to design our front yard. We didn’t have a specific plan in mind but we did want a front yard without have any grass. We wanted a low maintenance yard with drought resistance plants. Beyond that, we weren’t really sure what we wanted. Susan didn’t ask many questions but through conversations with us, she came up with a concept that was fantastic. As an example my husband mentioned that as a child he remembered homes that had front porches and neighbors sat on their porches and watched the world go by. I mentioned I liked places that were serene. From those conversations, Susan came up with a beautiful design that had a front porch and a fountain. We had never considered either of those items but were tremendously pleased with the idea. We didn’t change a thing in Susan’s final design and we couldn’t be more pleased. We love our front yard and neighbors have stopped by to admire Susan’s work As the work began, Susan frequently checked in with the landscape owner and crew to ensure they were following through with her design. When the landscape owner went on vacation, Susan was here daily to check on the crew. Susan was very fast to respond to questions or concerns we had and she was available to assist us with picking out the pavers for our driveway as well as the tiles for the walkway leading to the front door. She was extremely patient as we took forever to make a decision I would highly recommend Susan to anyone looking for a landscape architect. She is extremely easy to work with; has a lot of patience and comes up with beautiful designs incorporating childhood memories and lifestyle choices. When we are ready to start on our backyard Susan will definitely be the person we hire to work on a design for that.”

“I just completed a remodel of my pool and landscaping with the Alder Group, and simply stated I could not be happier. From the first meeting until the project was completed, Don always looked for ways to improve the project and at the same time ways to minimize the cost of the project. His keen eye for design saw needed simple improvements that were relatively inexpensive but had a massive effect on the overall beauty of the project. Perhaps most importantly when the manufacturer delivered the wrong custom coping, and I worried that we would not be able to meet the deadline of a large party that was planned for my backyard; Don found a way to resolve the issue and keep the job on schedule. “Sophie has an excellent eye and knows how to make a yard look not only beautiful but pulled together. When I came to her for a design for our backyard to go with our new pool, I had a lot of ideas. Probably too many. In fact, I'm sure it was too many. Hey, I know what I want. Sophie listened to me and incorporated my ideas into the final design so that it feels like it was my idea--only better. I don't know anything about plants or what will grow where, but that didn't matter because I had Sophie right there. Every plant type, ground cover and even placement of future hardscape features was well thought out. The yard is now inviting and the whole family enjoys spending time there. It's also a really nice backdrop out our kitchen window for days when we only get to look at it instead of hanging out there! Maybe that's the highest compliment a designer can get--when it's all done, it is more than what I expected. “So, about a year and a half ago I bought a small house built in 1939. Lots of charm, but the backyard, not so much. Small, nothing but a lawn, tiny little patio cover off the garage, and a big redwood at the corner. Oh, and my neighbors looked right over it from their second floor. I and my house guests would hide under the patio cover to get shade and privacy. It didn't seem like there was a way to fix all this, but Gary surveyed the yard, its problems and my neighborhood's style. He then listened closely to my concerns and was diligent in understanding my particular likes and dislikes. He came back with three different plans and I liked all of them. After I committed to a plan, he went to work and each and every member of his crew was friendly and professional during the work. Finished on time and in budget. And I love my yard! “Best service provider of all I have used, including, but not limited to landscape services. Executive Care builds a relationship with the customer, does not just do the job. Works to understand priorities and needs; listens to suggestions. My property is about one acre. Executive Care has done reasonably extensive re-landscaping to four areas. Total cost ~$70K over three years, 2016-2018. I now use them for annual maintenance. Highly recommend!”
