She was able to maximize my backyard and front-yard in ways I had not envisioned, turning them into beautiful outdoor living areas where I could socialize and enjoy the Napa Valley weather, wine and company. “With my front yard in desperate need of a new look I hired Mary to help in coordinating a new design. Mary met me at my home and spent a significant amount of time brainstorming ideas not only for a new landscape but helped incorporate new hardscape for the fireplace and sidewalks. After taking extensive measurements of my front yard, she came back with three different design concepts along with computerized pictures of what the finished design would look like. After my husband and I decided on a design, Mary helped us pick out the stone that was used for the hardscape. When the cement was getting poured, Mary was here to make sure all the work was done according to the plans. When it came time to picking out plants, she listened to what I had in mind as well as offered some other suggestions. When I had difficulty trying to find some of the plants at the nursery, she did not hesitate to make sure that the variety the nursery had was the right variety we needed for our plans. With the yard complete, I decided to paint the outside of the house. I had several colors in mind. Mary came by the house and offered her opinion on which color she felt complemented the stonework the best. Overseeing the cement work and picking out paint colors were not part of her job but Mary was so enthusiastic about the finished design, that she offered her time to make sure that the front of the house from landscape to paint colors was perfect. I would definitely work with Mary again. In fact we are in the process of putting together a design concept for our backyard. Mary is an amazing designer, flexible and very easy to work with.”

“Sophie has an excellent eye and knows how to make a yard look not only beautiful but pulled together. When I came to her for a design for our backyard to go with our new pool, I had a lot of ideas. Probably too many. In fact, I'm sure it was too many. Hey, I know what I want. Sophie listened to me and incorporated my ideas into the final design so that it feels like it was my idea--only better. I don't know anything about plants or what will grow where, but that didn't matter because I had Sophie right there. Every plant type, ground cover and even placement of future hardscape features was well thought out. The yard is now inviting and the whole family enjoys spending time there. It's also a really nice backdrop out our kitchen window for days when we only get to look at it instead of hanging out there! Maybe that's the highest compliment a designer can get--when it's all done, it is more than what I expected.
