“The design/build team at Garden Route are impressive. Rich and Sandy's designs are contemporary and liveable, and always striking and interesting. The designs are enhanced by an environmental consciousness regarding the use of water and the use of plants such as native plants and grasses that do not require regular maintenance and a chemical regime to sustain. They have an outstanding knowledge of useful and innovative materials for their designs. They create conceptually interesting gardens where the complexity and thought that goes into the design and construction supports eminently liveable spaces.”

“Kristen designed a beautiful makeover for our yard - front, back and sides. She asked lots of questions before designing anything - what we wanted (pavers, pretty flowers), what we didn't want (water feature, yellow flowers) and in general, how we wanted to use our yard. She came up with lovely, detailed plans for a traditional looking garden (with our traditional looking house) - that were revised slightly with discussion, then found a couple of contractors to bid on the work. She supervised the work of the one we chose, making sure they followed the plans. She recommended a new gardner - good choice. About a year later she replaced the few plants that hadn't made it (for no charge), and now almost two years later the place is absolutely beautiful! I can't tell you how many complements we have received ever since the job was originally completed - and they continue to this day!”

“We hired Rani to design our yard a year and a half ago and have been so happy with it! (See photos for San Mateo Redwoods.) It's perfect for entertaining, as well as family time. She listened to what we wanted, came back with several designs to show us some options and worked with us to get the perfect planting plans, too. She is very knowledgeable about plants and knew what would work in our shady backyard, and what would do better in the sunny front yard. We thought she did a great job at a reasonable price and have recommended her to many other friends and neighbors.”

“Gun was a real pleasure to work with. She listened very carefully to our half-formed ideas, made sure she understood what we wanted and liked, as well as what we didn't want and didn't like. We are delighted with the results! She transformed our somewhat neglected front yard into a lovely low-water garden. She skillfully guided us through every step, from initial consultation, design, contractor selection, installation and plans for on-going maintenance. Any questions/issues were quickly resolved. “After attempting to design our front and backyard on our own....and never feeling satisfied with our ideas we decided it was time to hire a designer. Having known Kathy on a personal level for a few years she seemed like the perfect choice. I emailed her to ask about how she worked, cost, etc....and she got back to me promptly with detailed answers to my questions. We set up a time to do a walk through and we were impressed immediately by her eye for design, plant knowledge, thorough approach to the design/project, and creativity. We spent months brainstorming together in person, over email, through text, and even via Pinterest board. She created a wonderful landscaping plan complete with a visual plant list. The design included a paver driveway, rock walls, rock bench, DG patio, travertine patio, lawn, electric water feature, stone bird feeder, and beautiful drought resistant plants. We were pleased with her design and perfectionist attitude (woman of my own heart). When the design was complete we had a hard time finding a contractor in our price range that we felt comfortable with. Kathy went above and beyond to help us find the right person. We were so touched by her desire to make sure we had the right contractor to work on our yard for us that we hired her on to check on the project weekly. The project was completely in a timely manner (even with all the crazy rain), and turned out just perfect. To be honest it is even better than we imagined! We can't wait for all of our little plants to grow! She did an amazing job transforming our ivy jungle into a safe place for our toddler and dog to explore. We are already loving all of our time relaxing in our new space. She listened to all of our hopes and desires and truly created a special place.”

“Tina Roushall is a top notch landscap designer. She is pleasant, intelligent, creative and responsive. Tina listens to her client's requests, researches plants, materials and ideas, and presents them for client's review in conceptual design options with good cost estimations. For every aspect of the job, Tina has several resources she can recommend for clients to interview. While your project is underway, Tina stays in contact with the client and the contractors, physically checking in. When we felt an installed item didn't represent our idea of what something should look like, Tina was on the phone with the installer and on the job site within the hour, assisting in evaluation and change to our liking. When I came up with a new hard scape idea to add to our project mid install, Tina was on the phone with the contractor arranging solutions to my request. Tina is what one would hope for in a perfect landscape designer relationship. We have recommended her to several of our friends who are using her services as well.”

“I just completed a remodel of my pool and landscaping with the Alder Group, and simply stated I could not be happier. From the first meeting until the project was completed, Don always looked for ways to improve the project and at the same time ways to minimize the cost of the project. His keen eye for design saw needed simple improvements that were relatively inexpensive but had a massive effect on the overall beauty of the project. Perhaps most importantly when the manufacturer delivered the wrong custom coping, and I worried that we would not be able to meet the deadline of a large party that was planned for my backyard; Don found a way to resolve the issue and keep the job on schedule. Don is truly one of the good guys.”

“We hired R&R to build a 1,900 sqft deck, outdoor kitchen and seating area. The team was outstanding! I can't say enough great things about these guys. They were clear about what they were going to do, when they were going to do it, and then in the end, it all happened as they said it would. The entire team was fantastic to work with. They came with great ideas and delivered for us every step of the way. If you are looking to remodel your backyard, look no further - this is your team. Choose anyone else at your own risk. Ron and the team are by far the best contractors I've ever worked with. Plus they are great guys on top of it, which makes the process move so much more smoothly. We never had to chase anyone down or wonder when anything was going to happen. They were great communicators throughout the entire project and we absolutely love our new backyard. Highly recommend working with them!”
