“I am so pleased with the landscaping work that Family Tree and Garden has performed in both my front and backyards. The transformation is amazing. Lawns and junipers were pulled out in both areas and new, beautiful drought resistant plants and bushes were planted and are doing superbly. A well thought out plan was drawn and the placement of the plants was aesthetically stunning. A new drip system was installed, a redwood container garden was built, a gazebo was installed, stepping stones were placed perfectly, a water feature was installed, baskets were placed around plants to guard against gophers, bricks were installed around plants in the driveway area to prevent bark run off, and boulders were used to give the gardens an attractive look. All work was completed on time, invoices were prepared in a timely manner, and the estimated costs were adhered to with no hidden charges or fees. I had many estimates and plans discussed with other companies but none came close to the quality of Family Tree and Garden. The types of plants used are interesting and hardy and we always get compliments from many people who walk by our house. I'd recommend this company highly!”

“I just bought my first house - a definite fixer-upper - and quickly learned how important it is to find someone you can really trust with working on an intimate, personal space like your home. Nancy is that someone. I actually found her on Yelp and thought, "Well, she has five stars... let's see why." She deserves every single one of them. She was fantastic at working with me on the budget, she finished everything exactly when she said she would, and responded to any questions I emailed within hours of me sending them - and I sent A LOT of emails. (Yep, I can be high-maintenance.) She knows plants and taught me a heck of a lot of stuff I didn't know, and she also did a really good job of listening to my own needs - something almost no other contractors have done. The couple times things haven't been quite right - for example when a bougainvillea died after a week - she came back and fixed it immediately. Most important, though, the work she does is spectacular. My front and back yards were a mess of concrete and dead, old plants. That crap is all gone, and in its place is a gorgeous colorful garden with a quaint stone path that runs from one end to another. It's like something out of a fairytale, and I enjoy walking through it every single night when I get home from the office. At first I was thinking of trying to landscape this project myself - after all, just a few plants, right? But it's so, so much more complicated than that. Now that it's done, there's not a day goes by that I'm not thrilled I hired Nancy to make my gardening dreams come true.”

“Finley’s did a great job installing my project and followed my requests. We installed a drought tolerant landscape and a new patio and shade structure. They also trimmed existing hedges and added lighting to the project. Staff was prompt in response to my questions and the crew kept the site clean while they were installing. The result is a fabulous backyard to enjoy.”

“During the drought, we decided to conserve water by replacing the old grass and xeriscaping for the front yard. Gus and his team pulled out the old turf, installed drip systems, new timers, and all the drought resistant plants and ground cover to complete the look. He came in on budget, followed our plans, gave us valuable feedback (he is certified in water management and irrigation systems), and was prompt and responsible in completing all phases of the project, including the follow up whenever issues came up. One last word of advice. If you do a xeriscape project, make sure your regular gardeners know what they're doing. Our old ones killed some plants and blew off a lot of the mulch. I'll have to upload a new picture to show how the front yard looks after the ground cover has filled in.”
